Hi everyone. 1st i would like to thank everyone who is reading this and willing to take the time and help me out with a couple questions before I root my phone.
This is my 1st Smart-Phone, so I'm new to knowing and terms people use on the forums. Right now I have a stock HTC Inspire 4G and when I go to the system settings to find out the firmware it says
Android Version; 2.3.3
HTC Sense version 2.1
After subscribing to a couple forums like XDA, howardforums etc.. I have learned a lot. But some things for some reason aren't sticking with me.
I haven't figured out what Sense is?
I think I have " Gingerbread " on my phone. Not to sure what that means but to me it sounds like the its the phones software.
Now I have been looking around and there is a great program with a lot of sucess called Advanced Ace Hack Kit (UPDATED 29-10-2011)
Now I watched a youtube video on that and it seems like a good program. I've learned that, that is Step #1. Root my phone.
When I root my phone does it restart with some kind of software on it so that the phone is useable? If that is true, it comes with a lot of features some including,
- Busybox manager app installed
- S-Off, superCid & carrier sim unlock
- Correct Radio is automatically restored for HSPA+ operation
- Clockworkmod Recovery and Rom Manager included ROM Manger. Now this is were I get confused one what to do. Do I download different ROMS that people have created and they go into the ROM Manger and than I load them up and it will change how the phone looks and acts?
I understand Step 1 with using the Advanced Ace Hackkit, but am stuck from there one... Any help would be greatly appreciated a lot!
Does Advanced Ace Hack install Sense? I really don't know what Sense is, if someone doesn't mind helping me out. Sorry for being such a newbie on this subject but I would like to get the most out of my phone as possible.
Thanks again for reading my post. I know I might of asked a lot of questions but without some answers I will confused and I don't want to do the wrong this and brick my phone. I've been reading about this for about a week and still confused. So like I said, thanks for reading my post.
