i have tried everything to screenshot and nothing works. I need help!!!

It is unlikely that you have tried everything, since it is possible to screencap with various methods and apps.

Please list the approaches you have tried so we don't waste time recommending things you have already tried.

You should be able to hold the power button and then tap the home button. This button combo is a feature of HTC sense and can be done without the use of 3rd party apps, etc.

Are you running HTC Sense on your phone or do you have any other non-Sense rom installed?
