Default Root help.

So I unlocked bootloader following Scotty's tutorial and proceeded to run AAHK.
Followed all of the necessary steps as per the instructions and then It tells me (after downgrading the RUU) to run AAHK again to root it etc.

It fills the progress bar, then says some shit about failing to do something with the radio, i dunno.

TL;DR - I'm on a black screen now with nothing loading. WTF Did I do wrong, how do I fix it?

Going through AAHK for a 4th time, seems it wasn't booting the ADB.
Kept getting the following

adb server is out of date. killing...
ADB server didn't ACK
* failed to start daemon *
error:
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *

Something along those lines -
except when I first did it ,
It only wrote that once - then froze up.

So maybe its working this 4th time through, we'll see.

It says it 'finished' that time around,
told me to press any key to continue.

So I did

Now at black screen again.
Nothing here.

glad you got it working. your thread is not pointless,it does in fact help re-enforce what we always tell folks- that the process typically goes much smoother on a mac(irony ) or on linux.

it seems difficult to set up the "pc envorinment" to deal with the complexity of the aahk tool with windows due to driver issues,and the potential for other things to interupt communications with the phone.pda net,easy tether,htc sync,even itunes can all cause prollems.

may consider updating back to att newest firmware(even if you intend to flash a custom rom). use these directions: Firmware Update on Rooted Inspire 4G

youll also find alot of good info in the DHD ATR subforum,as the DHD and inspire 4g are basically the same hardware. just holler if you have any questions.
