Welcome to the Android Forums!

Recording your voicemail message is actually a wireless carrier function. When you dial into voice mail their system should typically prompt you to establish a password and then record your message. What happens when you tell your phone to call voicemail?

If AT&T, you can hold the #1 button down and it will automatically call your voicemail.
