Change the os on HTC inspire to HTC sensation

I gotta HTC inspire 4g (HTC Inspire? 4G at AT&T) on att&t because my friend got an HTC sensation (HTC Mobile Phones - Sensation? 4G) on tmobile and i thought it looked cool and thought they were the same thing just different service providers. The os though is alot different :/ I think the android os on the sensation looks alot cooler and has better effects but it says we run the same firmware (Gingerbread 2.3) Is there any way to get my Inspire to have the same gui and effects as the sensation?

I'm assuming the Sensation has Sense 3.0 or 3.5, where as the Inspire has 2.0. You can root the inspire and flash a ROM that utilizes Sense 3.0. I'm running Android Revolution HD, which uses Sense 3.0. Runs great. There are plenty of others that people would recommend as well.

So even though they both run HTC sense theres no way to just update the sense to 3 or 3.5 you would have to root it?

That's correct. HTC/ATT hasn't released an official update to sense 3.x for the Inspire.
