Display not working

I powered my HTC Inspire 4G off and when I went to turn it back on, I had no display. The Home, Menu, etc icons at the bottom light up when I touch the power button, but that is all. My display is blank. I am not technical and don't have any idea what to do. Please help!

Remove the battery, reinsert it and restart the device.
