Default HTC Inspire will not boot up

I have an ATT HTC Inspire that starts up in a white screen after the
battery died and I charged it over night, upon starting it up it will only go to the white screen. Most of the time the buttons don't work to allow a option selection, When it does it loops back to the white screen.

I have tried every option and it comes back to this screen.

Default Thank you for the pictures

Oooooo thank you for the awesome picture. I have heard of this happening before but have never had the privilege of actually seeing it.

Here is why this is happeningÖ

The HTC Inspire has a KNOWN ISSUE with its volume keys malfunctioning and even falling off. Unlucky you.

Your phone thinks that you were intentionally holding your volume key in when you powered it on and thinks that you want to perform a Hard Reset on your Android phone.

You do not. But if your screen malfunctioned and you couldnít tap the screen to go into your settings then this hard reset would be a life saverÖ. But thatís a whole different thread all together.

So here is what you do.

Mess with the volume keys a little to try and get them unstuck

Restart your phone.

If you get the same screen then your volume keys are still stuck. Often there is a restart option but I didnít see it on your screenshotÖ

You donít want fastboot, recovery, definitely donít want to factory reset (you will erase everything you put on your phone), DONíT select SIMlock, and you donít want Image CRC.

So mess with your keys again (volume keys).

If you cannot get it to power on then file a warranty claim. Itís a known defect and if your phone is under a year old (hopefully it is) then they can send you a refurbished replacement.

You can TRY to factory reset it and HOPE that itís a software glitch but I am 95% positive that itís a hardware issue with the actual volume keys on the phone.

Good Luck 2k05gt
