Default "Hiding" Root from certain Apps.

I know that Rooting your phone often causes certain Apps to throw a wobbly and not work anymore. So far I have discovered two. The Sky Sports Mobile TV (use rarely, bundled channels to watch that came with my Vodafone contract) and Virgin's "TV anywhere", which allows me to set my Tivo box to record remotely (that still works) and watch (stream) some channels over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G, that option is now ruled out

Now in the past I used a "Root hider" that hid the SU binary and "fooled" TV anywhere into working fully. (Never tried it before with the Sky app). None of the apps from play store work post 4.3 Jellybean and over at XDA no one seems to have a solution either. I was wondering if anyone here had managed to successfully "hide" Root from apps.
