I am assuming you mean going back to stock, because this is very easy.

All you need to do is download Odin 3.09, and flash the stock firmware for your device once it's in download mode.

Thanks dude, I haven't fully explored being rooted just yet. Was looking to see if there was a way back if I wasn't happy with being rooted.

Yeah no problem. It's pretty easy to go back to be honest

If you need help though don't be afraid to ask.

I don't know why you wouldn't be happy being rooted. All it does is give you full control of your device, as far as uninstalling bloatware and being able to make countless customizations.

Other than that, you wouldn't even know it's rooted

Allow me to jump in here for a moment- being rooted won't cause you to loose s-pen functionality.
Now if you decide to run a custom rom, check first to see what works & what doesn't before installing. Most development threads (XDA in particular) will have everything spelled out for you.

No being able to receive system updates is the first thing I'm missing.

Using Hyperdrive 8 gives the user full S-Pen functionality.

To be honest, most of the ROMs for the VZW Note 3 have full S-Pen functionality.

Also keep in mind that just being rooted will not affect receiving OTA updates. If you change the ROM, that's different.

Just tried again to put my mind at ease. I get a message saying "your device has been modified, software updates are unavailable"

You should be able to accept them through Kies.

paulw035,

Who is your carrier?

I'm thinking we ought to move this thread to one of the all-things-root areas...

Thanks!

I just noticed that my action memo isn't working. I can create one through my S View Cover. But when I go into the app, I can't open it or create a new one. I can delete them, however.

I've also noticed that the voice commands don't work in the camera app

I dunno...perhaps it's a coincidence, but after rooting both my Nexus devices (2012, and 2013) using different methods. One with the actual wiping etc, and the other with towelroot. In both cases, I noticed my wifi speeds took a big hit.

I unrooted my 2012 back to stock and my wifi speeds are back to normal. However, I dunno about towelroot.

My guess is if I want to go back to stock, my Nexus 7 2013 would be wiped?
