Default Error when Backing up to external sd

Im trying to make a backup of my device but when I try to backup to my extrernal sd card it gets half way through then says error when backing up to external sd card. I've tryed formatting the sd card but it still doesn't work.

What type of card is it your using? If it is a cheap one there is a possibility there isn't enough space(although stated as 32gb, I had one tested to reveal it was only 1.8gb!) Or it could be an error with your recovery!?

It sats transcend micro sd. Its a 2gb sd card but says it has 1.86 of 1.86 free space. I had this sd card from 2 phones ago and it worked fine when I backed up rooted gs2

Are you sure there is enough free space? 2GB is pretty small.

After the backup has failed, how much free space is reported on the external SD card?

Yeah I think you may find 2gb is too little for a backup, I know mine the other day took up nearly 4gb of space!

I went out and bought a 32gb sd card and it worked. Thanks 4 the help.
