Default doing my head in...

It really is doing my head in, I keep looking at other Roms and think about flashing them etc, but any time I do, often even just look, I know I'm better off on the fantastic gpe Rom by Dan.

I mean seriously, I'm thinking about my contract being up next year and really do believe i won't bother upgrading! So long as we have great developers here, and we get gpe updates, there really is little need to upgrade is their?

What are you lot thinking on the subject of upgrading?

On another note, it's been too quiet in here of late :-P bring on android L :-)

I gave up on Sammy ROMS at the end of last year after trying out Dan's GPE ROM.
I went through an 8 week stint recently trying out various other AOSP/CM ROMS and I found the best of the ones I tried being Official SlimKat and SlimSaberKat. Really not a lot to decide either way between these two, but I would possibly just shade the Official SlimKat, JUST.

However, I always return back to Dan's GPE ROM. And since yesterday's update its even better with many behind-the-scenes updates such as an adblocking host file, ported CM calculator and AOSP browser to name but 3. With XPosed+GB, this ROM is a stable+slick beast. Don't get me wrong, so are the 2 Slim offerings I mentioned, but Dan's GPE ROM+Googy 1.1.5 kernel is rock solid and I just get a better feeling of dependability on it.

As for upgrading, I still have the best part of a year to do so, so I have a while to make my choice, with the Nexus 6 being firmly in my radar. An awful lot can happen between now and then of course, and I will obviously consider what the S6 has to offer before eventually deciding, but my gut is telling me to at long last break up from Samsung.

Thank you for the information ,I didn't know he updated on the 19th downloading right now and, you are both 100% correct, Dan's GPE ROM is perfect for the GT-i9505

I found slimkat to be my next favorite Rom a while back, but had a problem with video playback through mx player. I really ought to give it a go again now but Dan's really is just that good. I tried googy kernel a while ago too, and found it smoother and quicker, but battery life wasn't quite as good. As for Sammy phone, I've had the same thoughts(only had the s2 and s4 myself, but Mrs has s3) though LG have impressed me recently, I just keep thinking about how I kinda need money, and how much I could save keeping this one a while longer.Lol

Likewise volimte, I'm downloading the update :-)

Personally on the previous iteration i found googy to be slicker but battery life worst than kt, though kt has more options with profile tweaks etc :-) I'm trying out googy just now and i think i may try kt again depending on how i get on next couple of days :-)

The Fandy Rucker lost it whilst frollicking in a haystack. As to if the frollickee was female, or even human, is a matter that I have yet to confirm.

You won't go wrong on Dan's GPE Syd.
Currently there are quite a few problems on Slim/SlimSaber since the introduction of the new CM kernel, so it's a no-brainer at the moment butty.

Bugger just as I was settling in to some nice googymax kernel action, I read over on xda that he's got himself a Nokia Windows phone and ain't developing the kernel no longer......

Mind you, found the old audio farting problem was back with a vengeance on googymax. Looks like it's back to good old reliable kt kernel

1.1.5 was the last good release of googy. You should be ok on this for a while.
Not had any tune trumping for a long time now, not on googy or alucard

kt has been guff gratis for me since day 1 on ondemand, and on ktoonservativeq as long as disable_hotplug_bt=1 and disable_hotplug_media=1
