Default Samba filesharing?

Is anyone who rooted his phone successfully using Samba Filesharing?

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.funkyfresh.samba

I haven't rooted yet, and knowing whether this app will work with the GNex will help with my decision.

Thanks.

I use Astro with the SMB plugin, both free. Works fine. Just punch in the machine name, user/pword, all other entries are unneccesary unless you're on a domain and need to access specific shares.

Good luck.

Thanks. I wasn't sure how the lack of SD card might screw things up for Samba. Even if somehow my preferred app might not work, at least I know I can use Astro with the plugin.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out what limitations the virtual SD situation will manifest. So far, everything I've thrown at it has played nicely.
