I got my phone on bell launch day (dec 7th). I flashed the yakju build and instantly got .0.2 update. I wanted to try Wallet/Pandora so I used the wugz toolkit and unlocked/rooted my phone. Used up 8 of the $10 on the prepaid card but pandora still wouldnt work.
Today I clicked Wallet and it said I had an old version and needed to upgrade through the market. However it says its not supported on my carrier so really I havw no reason to be rooted as I dont plan on doing the whole rom/kernel deal.
So i guess in short Id like to relock and unroot my nexus and keep it yakuj so when the next update comes out ill get it from el goog.
Is there a guide for this? Any steps I need to take? Im very new to the whole root thing so please be easy on me.
I've not used Wug's toolkit but if I'm not mistaken, it has built in tools to unroot, return to stock and relock. Otherwise, if you have the sdk installed, you can flash all partitions individually, then run the lock command. There's a tutuorial in the sticky, if not for the GSM, there's one for the CDMA version. It'd be the same steps but obviously critical that you use the files for your phone.
Not sure what it'll put you on but I would ASSUME it's the latest version of stock for the GSM Nexus 4.0.2. Also, here's the post for the more manual method:
Okay but will i still have the yakuj build i flashed prior to rooting/unlocking?
I dont want the buggy .0.2 that yakujxx is getting.
Sorry, I'm out of touch with the builds for the GSM version, I run the CDMA. The tool says it'll flash stock 4.0.2. Was that version of stock buggy for you or are there two separate versions of 4.0.2 somehow? Probably best to wait for a GSM user to chime in on that question.
Another from samsung which is reported to have lag, market and other issues.
Thanks for your help though!
Ahh ok that makes sense. I would think the tool would use the Google version but I can't confirm that. And that thread is huge to try and sift for an answer.
