Default Volume button wakes up phone (JB 4.11)

Hi,

Using GNex GSM, standard Google ROM JB 4.11.

I listen to music player while the phone is in sleep mode. Then I reached in my pocket to increase the volume. The volume button wakes up the phone and as the phone was still in my pocket, the keys of the music player are pressed randomly.

Is it by design that the volume button wakes up the phone? If not, is there a setting to prevent that? Thanks.

it should be a setting in your rom control to take care of that, what version of the nexus do you have? international? since this is a root question i would need to move it to the All Things Root in your section where the answer to your specific question can be answered by the others who run the rom with you

Where do I read in the phone to answer the version question? What define an "international" version? I am in Canada.

My phone was Android 4.02 which I change to the standard JB 4.11 by following this article: Easiest Way to Change Galaxy Nexus from Yakjuxw (Non-Yakju) to Android 4.1.1 Yakju/Takju

your geographical location is what determines it, and you are international, so i will be moving this thread to the international all things root forum, mainly so your question can be answered.

I can't believe the fix of such a simple thing could be that complicated. I needed to learn how to flash a custom ROM. CyanogenMod 10 or Codename Android 3.50 fixes the issue (volume +/- doesn't wake up the phone).
