Default Can anybody confirm...

That this rooting method works? I don't have my phone yet, and won't until this Thursday at the earliest. I will not root if I have to go through HTCdev.com (until the warranty runs out on the phone of course) so if this works that's great news for me!

You have to go through HTCDev.com to unlock the bootloader.

Ugh, just another chink in the armor of the HTC One.

Depends on which version of the One they have. The Developers Edition version has the bootloader already unlocked straight out of the box! HTC also provides a factory 'stock" backup of this version HERE, so if you mess anything up you just simply install the download and you're back to "brand new" out of the box status, with the warranty not effected in any way.

The box said "Requires Windows 7 or better" ... so I installed OS X.
