Hi, and welcome to the forums.
If the application is one you installed, you can either uninstall it from the market or you can press the menu button ans select settings>applications>manage applications and then find the app in the list, click on it and select uninstall.
If it is an app that came with the Wildfire, you probably can't remove it without rooting your phone. Other than the space it is taking up in storage it isn't having a negative impact on its performance.
