Hello and welcome to AF. Thanks for joining the community.

Here's one way getting it done:

Go into Settings ---> Applications ---> Manage Applications and wait for this list to be populated with not just the applications but the amount of memory they are using up. Select a larger app and on the next screen if the the app can be moved to the SD card you'll be able to push the Move to SD button. Repeat the process for each app.

Music, pics, and videos are already saved on the SD card. If you need to move applications to the sd card for more space on the phone, just follow the steps below.

Go into Settings ---> Applications ---> Manage Applications and wait for this list to be populated with not just the applications but the amount of memory they are using up. Select a larger app and on the next screen if the the app can be moved to the SD card you'll be able to push the Move to SD button. Repeat the process for each app.

All my media goes to internal also.
Just use Astro. Move the contents of mnt/sdcard/dcim to mnt/sdcard/ext_sdcard/dcim, and likewise mnt/sdcard/musicdownload to mnt/sdcard/ex_sdcard/musicdownload (and whatever other music files in internal like /music, or/mp3 download, etc.)

I tried your suggestion of moving the app by pushing the button Move to SD Card in the app management; however, it moves the app to the phone's internal SD card or USB storage and not the external SD card. If you look in your storage memory section you will see that the external SD card's memory does not change at all when you do this but the internal SD card memory changes. It does not get moved to the external SD card. Android really needs to let you move stuff to your external SD card. If you can't use the card, what good is it to have a place for it in your phone. I did see a way around this on a YouTube video here How to REALLY put apps on external sd card android - YouTube but I think you have to have your phone rooted and I know nothing about that or how to do it. I am definitely not a computer techie. I'd just like some EASY way of putting my stuff on my external SD card.

if you have a galaxy tab 2 go to your files a find the music you want to move. press and hold it and move to the left towards the top of the sub folders and it should scroll up until you see the folder that says extSdCard and drop it on that. it will then be moved to external sd card
