LG Optimus-S is my first Android and I am totally clueless! I am hoping to find much wisdom here!

I'm sure people here will be able to help you out. Have you found our Optimus S forum yet? That's the place for phone-specific stuff, but we also have other forums for general android discussion, and even for non-android stuff.
