On starting up with the galaxy note 2 I have messed up. Can you tell me whether the user name(e mail ) address and password has to be the same as your e mail account details.I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Mkgerry and welcome to Android Forums!

The gmail account on the phone would be the one that you want to link to for all apps and backup on your DEVICE. This account will follow you forever... as you upgrade phones, log in with that same account and all your apps will download again.

It doesn't necessarily have to be your main e-mail account, but it does have to be your phone account. If you had a previous Android phone, use the gmail and password that the phone was set up with. Otherwise, you can create an account fresh and hae a new start with your Note 2.
