Default deleting widgets

hello-newby here...to the forum and to androids. just got mine a few days ago.

can anyone tell me how to delete widgets and apps that appear on home sceen.
i keep making mistakes that are putting unwanted things on screen.

Welcome to the forums, jbecksterau!

In addition to the advice above, you will definitely want to open the Play market, go to Settings and UN-CHECK the "auto-add widgets" option. That will keep Play from putting icons in some available spot on your home screens with every installation.
