Cool Excited about Android

Hi Everyone,

I've been playing with computers and operating systems since 1985. With that said, I've been a Linux disciple for over 6 years now and was understandably excited when Android came on the scene.

I am a huge proponent of open source. I feel everyone should have the right and opportunity to share their brilliance with the rest of the world and not use it for the purposes of becoming a billionaire.

My one and only Android device at the moment is a 1st generation Kindle Fire. I've rooted the device and am running Alien Android. This is a very robust permutation of Jelly Bean 4.1.1, CM10. By using this system and a few very specific applications, I can use external storage (memory sticks) with an external powered hub.

I've tried several other ROMs but keep coming back to Alien Android. Once a stable version of Android 4.2 comes out for the Kindle, I'll probably give it a try as well. Heck, that's why I bought one of the cheapest tablets on the market, to see if I could make it do things the resellers never intended it to do. So far so good.
