Hey there.
My first android phone was a HTC Hero. That one lived for a long time, it's life extended greatly thanks to the guys at Villainrom. If I hadn't rooted that phone, I probably would have smashed it against a wall a long time ago.
In fact, it was retired only earlier this year, when I inherited my brother's old HTC Evo 3D. Well, I say "old", but in reality it had just been refurbished for free on his insurance... but repairs took too much time and he really wanted to get a Samsung Galaxy SIII.
So he did. He bought a red SIII, and I got the Evo 3D. Technically a used phone, but most of it had been replaced.
Considering I upgraded from a slow-ass Hero (which still works fine, by the way, that thing is built like a tank), the Evo 3D is a marvel to use.
It's a bit of a battery hog, but since I'm a photographer and carry a fairly sizable camera bag everywhere anyway, stuffing an extra charger in there isn't much of a problem. Provided I can find an outlet somewhere.
I wasn't really sure about rooting, and to be honest, if they hadn't included so much undeleteable crapware, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Even better, the free version of Shazam interfered with my paid version of Shazam...and I never could hit the right button when I needed it.
Now I'm here to ask for some help. I'm another one of those poor unlucky and clueless fools that has a problem and registers to post a "help me?" thread.
I won't post that here, though, but if you have any expertise on the Evo 3d, I'd appreciate it if you took a look at my soon-to-be posted thread about that.
I really don't want to go back to using the Hero.
