Sup, lurker reader comes out...
Sup all, names Fr0st. Joined up cause i've been an off and on visitor to Phandroid off an on the last few year since getting my first smartphone, a Droid X back in Nov of 10. Since then I told evil VZ to piss off and got a Sexy white Galaxy Note 1 in April and been loving it to death until October I was ******ed and dropped in into the bathtub. I had insurance with Asurion but they were gonna charge me freaking $200 deductible to get a refurbished Note 1 and with the Note 2 out now, I simply couldn't justify it.
After 2 months of head banging and trying to figure how how I was gonna replace my phone and with what, I Found a great salesman at local AT&T store I hadn't visited before who got me a Note 2 yesterday using the not well known "Exception" upgrade through AT&T so I managed to save some money that way and trade in my beloved but water logged Note 1 for some trade it in credit and got a lovely white Note 2 at long last for about $530.
Sadly, the screen has some stuck pixels that I found last night. But he's already got me a replacement white Note 2 enroute for next week. Now i've been on the hunt in my town and online for a good quality case. I had an otterbox for my Droid X that was good but the rubber was REALLY annoying with attracting all the dust and crap in my pocket. My Note 1 I got from Costco in April so i got a free nice silicon case that did a nice job protecting the phone while still allowing me to enjoy looking at it but couldn't save my Note from the watery depths of the tub.
I just placed an order with Samsung for one of their cases and then I totally forgot to check what Otterbox had for the Note 2 cases and I couldn't believe it when they had the sweet looking Glacier Otterbox commuter for the Note 2, it looked perfect! A combination of protecting the phone, complete with jack covers as well and nice color look! Now i'm just hoping to find a coupon for free shipping or something cause $45 is kinda ouchy....
