Hi i am new to this . i have just got a nas and was hopping to play my films from it to my tv using my tablet but it wont work anyone know how i can do it please , nas is working and can play on tablet but when i plug in usb to tv and tablet it wont play only stuff that is on tablet not nas even when running film on tablet

Hi sorry a nas is a network attached storage , mine is a d-link dns-315.
but what matters is i want to hook up my tablet to my tv using the usb without it going into mass storage and stopping most apps working on my tablet, then i can stream movies, music , photos ,ect hope someone can help

You'd need to connect to the TV in another way.

Maybe your tab has a HDMI output for to connect to the TV?

Maybe your tab's microUSB has MHL ability?
Then you'll need a MHL adapter with a HDMI cable for to connect to the TV.

Maybe your TV has LAN/WiFi and DLNA ability and your tab has it too?
Then your gallery should be able to stream directly to your TV via WiFi.

Thanks Harry but not got smart tv but no probs just been given an xbox so can run on that thanks anyways
