Welcome to AF!

There's a tool called the Ace Hack Kit which does all sorts of things to the DHD, although I'm not sure if it provides a network unlock. You'd be best placed heading to the Desire HD section and they'd put you on the right track: HTC Desire HD - Android Forums

The Support or All Things Root forum will most likely be your best bet.
