Default Kindle fire rooting help

Ok so im feeling really stupid because im usually good at these things but anyway... Ok so what im trying to do is root my kindle fire but no matter what i do i cannot get it to show up when i type "adb devices" into the command prompt, ive tried everything: uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling, uninstalling adb, reinstalling, editing the way i typed the lines into the usb.inf file, but nothing seems to work, if anybody knows how to fix this or could point me towards REALLY detailed guide i would be really thankful ^_^

The most detailed guide I saw is the video that is on jcase's rooting page. It goes through it step by step. Copy him move for move and it should be a no brainer. That is, asuming you got the driver installed correctly...

I installed the android sdk kit a long time ago but I don't think you even need to just to do this. The files you download include all the stuff you need. Just unzip, and run it like the videop says and copy/paste the adb commands. There are links in the description of the video that have everything you need.

I just looked again at jcase's page and realized I downloaded the su app and the root app from him and everything else from the links in the vid. Try that.

forget the SDK, look at the video on you tube, and click more information. Those steps there work well! The drivers and setting are already correct in the listed downloads.

after you root the Kindle Fire, will you be able to download the moviebox app that is out there? I hear it is a great way to get all television shows. If not, is there something similar to that app that you can get on the Kindle Fire that does the same thing?

You'd be better off starting a new thread than dragging up a thread that has been dead for over a year.
But to answer your question, I don't know
