Default Dumping on the American Market?

What is Curtis International?

According to Curtis International's web site...
http://www.curtisint.com/about/contact-Us.asp
they are located at:
315 Attwell Drive, Toronto, ON M9W 1M2, Canada

This places them in the same building as...

Proactive Supply Chain Solutions Inc.
280 Belfield Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1H6, Canada

and while Curtis International does not display a sign on the building they are in, Proactive Supply Chain Solutions does. (Get A to B directions for these two addresses on Google maps. Look at the satalite image, go to street view, see if what I'm saying is true.)

Now go to Proactive Supply Chain Solution's web site http://proactivesc.webs.com/ and contemplate what you see in relation to the award wining quality of the Curtis International web site.

The goal seems to be to dump excess Chinese tablet supply on the American market without diminishing the demand for quality tablets within the American Market. The product itself is cheapened by excluding selected software components, and then the responsibility to provide software and driver updates is shifted to a web site (Curtis) which simply fails to do so. Neither the manufacturers (various Chinese), the trucking company, (Proactive SCS) or the retailer (H. H. Gregg & others) take responsibility for the lack of customer support displayed by the web site. (Curtis International)

Curtis' web site has no links to any OEM support download sites, and the only software provided to us by Curtis thus far does not work. This appears in the “LT7033 USB Windows Drivers” section as the attached file: “RockusbDrivers.zip.zip” DONT USE THIS FILE!!! It doesn't work.

According to their web site http://www.curtisint.com/about/about-Us.asp Curtis is planning to attend the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show. (January, 8-11, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada) Central Hall #9442

I hope that Curtis International will be responsive to their end customers and provide links to the OEM download site for each and every tablet they make available. In addition to this, the OEM's should be gracious enough to supply accurate information concerning device drivers and the proper rooting tools to use to correct the problems these tablets were shipped with.

Needless to say, these issues should be addressed before the start of the show, and then a customer 1st attitude should be maintained thereafter.

The following link lists the tablets currently available from Curtis International. I have every confidence that Curtis International will include the required links before the opening of CES 2013.

They probably would soon end up with some kind of class action lawsuit for false marketing practice.
Bought the 7 inch Proscan internet tablet PLT-7035-B (5 of them actually - as gifts since it was on sale during the holidays for 59.99 USD at P C Richard and Son) and on the box it says Video Output: high speed HDMI, 720p and 1080p output which they conveniently covered up with another sticker saying the same as above, but this time with (optional) added to the line in brackets.

The processor info is another thing which has also got a sticker cover up with the original carton box print specifying it to be the Rockstar "2918" chip and the sticker says Rockstar "2906"

Now I really do not know which to believe because the tablet does not shed any light on the matter either because under Settings>> About tablet it says following:

model PLT7035-B running ICS 4.0.4
Kernel version 3.0.8+ EM2906-722A@V03M #260
Build number rockchip rk29sdk-eng 4.0.4_20121114

Have rooted the last one left with me and want to install CWM and CM10 without bricking it (since it is a gift to someone who has absolutely no technical know how).

You probly would just have to go by model # for cwm and cm.

For some more info on your chipset, there is a busybox command inside /proc/*

Download terminal emulator from google play and run this command:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
It shoud give you enough info to search down your chipset perameters.
