Default best app for free USB tethering?

Any good free app for tethering? I have been unsuccessful in finding any app which would help achieve Internet sharing between phone / laptop. I was able to do that without issues on my previous Windows Phone. I am not a heavy tethering user. It is just that I need to use it on an ad-hoc basic, like once in a month. I guess by default Sprint is disabling Tethering. You need to to pay some $30 fees. Any way to circumvent the same? Any thoughts / help is appreciated.
