Default question about a mpg3 file

The mpg3 file in question is the default music file that came with the phone and plays when the phone rings. It is a really bad rap song. I have tryed deleting it and replacing it. The replacement works for a wile then the phone reverts back to the default song that came with the phone. help

have you "moved" your ringtone to the media folder?
i did that and even after i lost root along with my wifi my ringtone is still set.
you may need to change it to a ".ogg" file, thats what i did.

Default re: question about a mpg3 file

I can't find the mpg3 file in question anywhere. I looked everywhere from the laptop. And using the on board file read/search that I d/l direct to the phone. I know the file is somewhere but I can't find it.

can you redownload it?

i use a site called zedge.com and download the mp3 files to my laptop and then copy them to the phone.
i also use avg ringtonemaker to make my own ringtones.
been useing it for 2 years to make custom ringtones for me and all my friends

If default ringtone is located on SD card, phone will revert to factory tone on reboot.
Reason, SD card is not mounted until after boot.

Solution, copy the media file you want to the system
/system/media/audio/ringtones
