Default SMS Layout

Can the layout for texting be changed? I cant seem to find any way to change it on my Rise.

The stock one you can't. Try 'handcent' or 'go sms' from the play store. Or another popular texting app.

I used to have the Huawei Mercury and you could change the looks of it by pulling the framework.apk and systemui.apk and pulling it back in and restarting the phone, cant it be done with this as well?

Pulling and replacing files out of the /system on the Rise, with no CWM, is not a good idea, imo. I think using a different app is a little more user friendly, and doesn't require root or /system knowledge.

True, true. When ro if we have CWM in the future, could this be done? Or would it alter the rest of the code and all?
