Need to get some development

We really need to get some information and development in this forum. Im gonna start adding links that i find to help with rooting and os upgrading. Hopefully we can get more users here

I'm an Android noob with a friend's i7 and I use Linux only.

Don't mind command line -- prefer it to GUIs, actually.

Been searching and reading but root apps seem either M$-oriented or not enough info for this noob (i.e. Rooted with z4root made no sense to me).

Have downloaded Super1Click but cannot make use of *.exe files; have jdk-7u7-linux-i586 and android-sdk_r20.0.3-linux tarballs and the z4root.1.3.0.apk files -- what to do with them i am almost clueless due to lack of clarity; downloaded and installed FroyoLiteTux and ran the

command but device could not be enumerated, it says.

One page is under construction and does me no good.

"Want to get this running," my friend says (see my Intro -- "Greet").

Suggestions?
