Make sure you are signed into the Talk app. You will not be able to download any apps if you are not. It runs silently in the background so its ok.

@st24961

Are you on Wi-fi or a data plan?

Also, I've heard about "interesting" IP and copyright issues that blick access to the market depending on one's location. Do you have friends in your area access android market okay? Do they have any problems?

If you can't sign into Talk app, then you cannot download apps, they won't start.

So the issue is the not being able to sign into Talk, once u can do that downloads will work. Some things to check:

- Have you got the running out of space notification?
- Have ever been able to sign into Talk?
- are you using a taskkiller (guess not if you've never been able to download)

Hi,
I am using Wi-fi at home. No data plan. Surfing the net has no issue. So far haven't notice anyone in my area using android phones. I guess have to wait till HTC upgrade the firmware for the Legend. Thanks

Hmm... Interesting..

@lekky Have you been able to download apps over wi-fi? I've tried a few times and the downloads only start once I disconnect the wi-fi (or leave the wi-fi hotspot) and go back to the data plan.

Yes you should be able to download apps via wifi. Did you check talk is signed in over wifi?

Hi to all in this threads,
I wrote to HTC support and they told me to hard reset my htc legend. Then follow the onscreen prompt and key in all the relevant data such as, email address... etc. Once I did those things, I am able to log into the Market application through WiFi and download my apps successfully. Thanks to all.

Regards

Hard resetting deletes everything right?
Apps / Custom themes / etc

what about SD files??

My 'talk' app says 'signing in' but never signs in... tried everything =(

Anyone else had any other fixes? I don't want to do this unless we're certain =P

@Andy_Elvis - It clears the phone, yes. However, you can backup stuff to the SD card. For example, ASTRO File Manager Android App Review by AndroidTapp.com | Android Tapp. Android App Reviews seems to allow this, or Way to backup applications to sd card easy way - xda-developers also has information.

Default Fixed mine

Hey everyone,

Just to let you all know how i've fixed my downloading problems.

On my google account it asked if i wanted to go from googlemail.com to gmail.com

I did that, but google 'talk' didn't know that I had done that, and was trying to sign into the same account, but because it had a different address it couldn't.

So i went back onto my google account and reverted back to googlemail.com and it worked!

Hope this helps some people!
