download unsuccesful for every app tried to download
trying to download picsay app...tried several times.
downloading to HTC legend... only just got phone 2 days ago so not been able to download any app's yet from android market!
i have set up google account so not a problem there.

I am from Singapore. Got my Legend 2 weeks ago. Have been trying to log into the Android Market app to download some apps but to no avail. Same happen when trying to sign in to Talk app. I have a valid Google account. Any advice. Thanks.
Also, I've heard about "interesting" IP and copyright issues that blick access to the market depending on one's location. Do you have friends in your area access android market okay? Do they have any problems?

If you can't sign into Talk app, then you cannot download apps, they won't start.
So the issue is the not being able to sign into Talk, once u can do that downloads will work. Some things to check:
- Have you got the running out of space notification?
- Have ever been able to sign into Talk?
- are you using a taskkiller (guess not if you've never been able to download)

I am using Wi-fi at home. No data plan. Surfing the net has no issue. So far haven't notice anyone in my area using android phones. I guess have to wait till HTC upgrade the firmware for the Legend.Thanks
@lekky Have you been able to download apps over wi-fi? I've tried a few times and the downloads only start once I disconnect the wi-fi (or leave the wi-fi hotspot) and go back to the data plan.

I wrote to HTC support and they told me to hard reset my htc legend. Then follow the onscreen prompt and key in all the relevant data such as, email address... etc. Once I did those things, I am able to log into the Market application through WiFi and download my apps successfully. Thanks to all.

I have no problems d/l apps. I use mobile broadband. I am in the same country as you.
Just to let you all know how i've fixed my downloading problems.
On my google account it asked if i wanted to go from googlemail.com to gmail.com
I did that, but google 'talk' didn't know that I had done that, and was trying to sign into the same account, but because it had a different address it couldn't.
So i went back onto my google account and reverted back to googlemail.com and it worked!
