Default Connecting to computer, problem

Help! I have have 2 issues going on right now. My first one is when I connect my phone to the computer to transfer pics or videos, it tells me that there is nothing there. The sd card is in my phone since all of my pictures show up on there. It worked the first time a couple days ago when I connected it and all the images and videos showed up. but Now it's telling me to "insert disk into drive G" when I click the folder to open. It will charge my phone, but nothing else now.

Second, my friend deleted a video off of my phone that I desperately want back. I downloaded 2 recovery programs, but neither are working to recover anything from the phone since neither my Windows XP or Mac Pro are popping up with my images and videos. I don't know what to do!!

I hope someone can understand what's going on since I don't have a clue

Have you tried connecting to your computer with bluetooth or do you even have a bluetooth connection on your computer?

I assume you did this before, but when you connected, did you click on the notification that lets you mount the card? I'm very new to the Android OS so I'm learning as well, but I noticed this the first time I plugged my phone into the computer that it wasn't finding the card until I mounted it.

Turn off the phone. Pull the card out. Put it into a card reader. Problem solved.
