Default Streaming music via bluetooth to car stereo

I was in the car today wondering how it would be possible to stream music from my LG Ally to my car stereo.

I have the Apline CDE 9873, which is NOT bluetooth ready. So before I go and buy a new stereo unit or a bluetooth connector, I was wondering if it is possible to stream music using regular air data to a bluetooth ready car stereo.

I use the last.fm app, but I may also run navigator in the background. Would both (or all multiple sound apps) go through to the car stereo???

Thanks,
bc

When I had my Ally, I did exactly that, but with Pandora & Sirius. Worked fine, and they would let the Navigation announce over the music (navigation would pause the music, say what it had to say, then start the music stream back up). Worked great to the BT capable radio in my truck. The only issue you may see is if you do all that and charge the unit, the battery can overheat (it'll show up with a ? in the battery symbol, and eventually it'll give you a message that the battery has overheated, and that you should move it to a cooler location immediately).

Default Streaming

Get an FM transmitter from Satechi. Plug it into a cig lighter. Set it for 87.9. It comes with a cable that will connect the Ally to it. Works perfectly and only about $35

If you want to know for sure. You need to look for a stereo that supports the A2DP profile. Just because it says bluetooth does not mean you can stream music. My Pioneer AVIC F900BT does support bluetooth, but only handsfree audio. It has ZERO a2dp support and is only seen by the phone as a handfree system.

This feature is so sexy.

I purchased a new radio and it came with a Bluetooth dongle and I was never expecting to use it. But then i tried it with my old centro and it was cool for phone calls. But then I discovered that I could use pandora and stuff with this on my ally... OMG it love it. Especially how the radio controls (Remote) will control the phone.

I'd like to do this with my X, but before I get a new deck I want to find out how well the sound quality is.

Old post, but I thought to recommend using XiiaLive. Check out this video how you can use the app with your car's BT enabled stereo.
