Default ALLY not powering down when plugged in

Has anyone else noticed this? I got my wife an ALLY, she loves it. When I went to charge it, I powered it down and and when I plugged it in, the phone took it upon itself to start back up. Not a real issue, but I find it a bit odd....

As far as I know, this is normal. My droid does the same thing. I actually called VZW Tech about it and they said it is supposed to happen. I also found it odd as I'm not forced to mute my volume every night while it's charging. Also, you can force the screen to shut off while it's charging by pressing the sleep button. Hope that helps :\
