The LG Connect 4G comes incorporated with a 4-inch 480 x 840p LCD capacitive multi-touch Nova display, coated with the Corning Gorilla Glass screen protector which promises to keep the device secure against daily wear and tear. Users can get their daily dose of music by conveniently streaming tracks through the pre-installed Rhapsody Unlimited Music service.

There is also a 5MP rear facing snapper with autofocus and LED flash which lets users take videos in 720p HD. Furthermore, the embedded Dolby Mobile feature enables audiophiles to groove to all their stored music complete in high quality sound.

The MetroPCS LG Connect 4G is scheduled to be available via the company’s stores as well as online at metropcs.com, next month. Its exact release date and price details are not yet known.

I can't wait til this phone comes out! I hope it's not going to be very pricey, if it's going to be more expensive than the Esteem, I might as well go with the Esteem. I heard a lot of good specs on this phone and I'm very skeptical in buying it when it comes out!

So does that mean the LG Esteem price will drop? or will both Connect and Esteem be at the same price range?

Was at a metro corp store today trying to decide whether or not to wait or get an esteem. Anyways the rep at the store told me the connect is going to be cheaper than the esteem. He did not know exactly how much but he was positive it was going to be cheaper and said if I were him to wait for it instead of buying an esteem and being disappointed when it comes out.

Go to wirefly.com they have the Esteem going for $268 and the Attain for $248. I'm still scratching my head thinking as to why the price dropped a lot for the Esteem. I know it hasn't been out that long... but I wish the price would drop for the Attain too if they're coming out with Connect soon. The only thing I don't like about the connect is that the dedicated home keys don't light up

Default Price??

price-of-phone: Price Of LG Connect 4G MS840, Specifications And Review

According to this link the price of the Connect will be $375. Which makes sense when taking into consideration the fact that it's dual core and has a NOVA screen. I don't know however how reliable the links information is. As to the release information I haven't found anything aside from what they mention in the CE2012 video staying that its expected release is in February.

Ouch, $375 is a bit out of my price range I like the phone because of the 5MP camera on it but the front facing camera is only VGA so yeah.. I could save up another $100 for the phone because I'm using my tax refund $$ to buy a new phone but I might just get the Attain, not a big fan of big phones like the Esteem, although it is nice, it's just not me! I have small hands so yeah LOL

does anyone know what the battery size will be? it says it should have 4.5 hours of talk time and 270 hrs of stand by. So in therory it should be a bigger battery than came standard on the Esteem (lost about 10% per hour on stand by).

I just bought my wife the Esteem on Valentines Day, it's a really nice phone. I was gonna get us both the Connect, but it's still not out. I asked a Metro employee yesterday about release & price. She admits they have the promo stuff, but no clue on date or price. Said she's waiting to get one too.

Hi Misleadb4. I hope you're right...but for what it's worth...I noticed today that there was a fair amount of talk on MetroPCS's Facebook Page about the LG Connect release being "delayed" due to "software issues" until possibly "late March or April". Apparently, a number of people were under the impression that LG Connect was going to be released today.

There is no word official from MetroPCS to substantiate any of these reports but as the saying goes..."where there is smoke, there is fire". In all likihood, it might be a while before the LG Connect 4G is released (6 to 8 weeks). God I hope I'm wrong

I jus left my friend's store and he said it should be within 2 weeks or so. He gave me the users guide for the connect and said he received a few things that he usually gets just a week or 2 before getting the phone.

Hi all, first post here. I have some exciting news! I was in my local MetroPCS store in Modesto, California today. Inside they had a bunch of Connect 4G promo put up so I asked the saleslady what the release date was. She told me that I that could purchase it right away. It lists at $400 but she told me that the was an instant rebate of $50. Then she told me that it would be $409 dollars out the door with tax, etc. Hope this was informative, looking forward to yall's replies.

and if its true you will see im no troll

I'm not sure if the phone is available in all areas or even if its supposed to be available in my area. All I know is that you can purchase it in my town if you have the cash. I don't, I'll be purchasing a Esteem. I'm no troll though. I'll be getting the Esteem tomorrow now that I know what the price of the Connect 4G is. I'll ask to see the phone tomorrow and I'll try to get a pic of it with my old phone. We'll see what happens, till then.

Default I'm fiending man!!!!

Oh man I've been waiting for this like an addict missing his stash!
Hi OP I've been keeping up with this phone since if was first rumored I've done a lot of research, and called a few friends that work with metropcs in Miami, what source did you get this release date from. I've clicked every single search engine link and haven't found any solid word on release date for the Connect or the Viper(same phone check out the battery cover!) ...

The Front facing camera is 0.3/VGA for sure it's been confirmed since I think before CES 2012. In addition thank you for this great update, hope to hear more soon.

Yesterday I went back to that same Metro store to purchase the Connect 4g that the saleslady said she had and would sell me two days earlier. She said that she was out of the phones now and that she could call another store to see if they had any. Here's where it gets shady, when she asked the clerk from the other store if they had any in stock she didn't say Connect 4g! She asked if they had anymore Esteem's in stock. So I see this two ways:

1. She is an idiot, can't read, or hear. As I picked up the prism shaped promotional box with the picture and the name of the phone right on it and I said "Connect 4G".

or

2. She tried to bait and switch me, charging me $409.00 for a 299.99 phone.

Either way I was disappointed because I couldn't purchase the phone or get any pics of it. Hell, I don't even know if she had it in the first place. I managed to sell some equipment I didn't need to get the extra money for it too. Since Ære is so well regarded around here I'm gonna wait for for the official release and hope the price really 329.00! I'm gonna wait for it to come out on the website because I don't want to do business with any of the stores around here except for the corporate store and that one is to far away. I've been to a few of the independent stores in my area and when I do business with them it feels like they are trying to take me for a ride.

Ehh, from what I know...gorilla glass, 5 MP cam w/flash led, 1.2 GHz dual core snapdragon processor and NOVA screen seems too much for $249. That would be an awesome deal though

Did anyone go to a metro store today? Are they releasing it tomorrow or what?

EDIT...
Holy crap it looks like the lg connect is available at metro stores now! Check their website, it's already listed. I checked the price for the lg esteem on amazon yesterday night and it changed from 299 to 349 which sucks. So both phones are selling for 349.99

I went to a metropcs corporate office on Fowler ave, Tampa fl on Friday to get my connect. The sales person acted like he was doing me a favor or selling me a new I phone, wtf. Then he tried to charge me $369 for the phone.
When I point out that the web site price the phone at $349 the sales person said that that price is only for online sales. He tried to charge me store charges or something, at that point i just walk out the store.
That afternoon I found an small metropcs store, and I got my phone for the listed price, the Colombian sales woman even filled out my rebate forms and everything.
Now I am sticking to this small store for all my phone needs.
I just wanted to share this early bad experience for those people that say good thinks about the big metropcs corporate stores and talk crap about the little ones.

I picked mine up Friday afternoon, they had just hit my store (metro pcs cumming, ga)................paid $349 with a $30 mail in rebate with a net of $319 + tax, etc walked out $402 later.......dumped battery first day due to wi-fi on, operator error I guess.........my first smart phone................I waited for this phone and so far, I am loving it and so is everyone else that looks at it that has history with android............I live in rural boundary area and this phone is crisp and clear, screen is bright graphic. Gotta go back in for some "real time" show me, picked up at lunch time and was shocked it was in................now if I can just learn how to type on it..................aaahhh
