All of you guys that had a chance to mess with both phones what are the pros and cons of both and which do you prefer??
I was going to get the esteem but heard saw connect was coming out so I waited now that they are both same prices and specs are some what similar idk which to get, need to some help.
Also do you guys think price will drop of either phone within a month or so?
Can you use the $40 plan on either, I want to know from actual people that do have it if yes because the sales rep said no that you need $50 plan but i called corp twice and both times they said both phones can use the $40 plan, i dont care for the video streaming the $50 plan offers?
Im upgrading from optimus M
Thanks

I have both the esteem and connect and love both the esteem is bigger but that's it the connect is so so smooth with the same apps on it as my esteem but to each is own its what u like both are good more features with the connect and more memory with esteem but that's why they make memory cards right good luck
screen size doesnt matter to me 4 inchs is good enough
and i already have a 32gb msd for my optimus which i will use and i think the connect overclocked is going to be insane thats why im leaning more towards connect esp is really only benefit of esteem is screen size
Both of the phones have a 480x800 resolution. So the Connect 4G actually has more pixel density because of the .3" difference in sizes. It also has the Nova display which the Esteem does not. The real shame is that the Connect 4G lacks the hdmi out, but by no means is it a deal breaker. With twice as much RAM and a dual core processor, that's what sealed it for me.

actually the Esteem is 480 x 800 and the connect is 480 x 840 so yeah still higher density just correcting the pixels that u missed, plus yeah the connect has 242 ppi which is higher.

If you reference the Anuntu benchmack thread you'll see that the Connect is indeed 480x800
I am not sure what to go with myself. I am upgrading from the Optimus M. The problem that I see with the One V is the fixed battery, the lack of a front facing camera, and no real announcement that it is coming to Metro. I am also considering the attain, since I do not want to spend $350, but the One V could work for me if the battery life is good and the price comes in closer to $200-250.

Typical confusion at Metro. I hope they keep it around and the price goes down a little. It looks like you are correct on the 4g. Phone Arena is not showing LTE as part of the technology on the One V. In fact, none of the technology listed is compatible with Metro. That likely takes it out of my short list if it is not LTE. I will never convince my wife that I should spend $350 on a phone, so the Attain is looking better for me.

Change that. I have the most awesome wife in the world!!! She insisted that I go ahead and get the phone that would make me happy for the longest amount of time, so I am the pround new owner of a Connect!!!

The day I meet a woman like that I would get on my knees to propose. Lucky you! My ex wouldn't hear for something like that.

i went with the connect for my first smartphone purchase.
you lose .3 inches on the screen, an HDMI out, and a megapixel on the frontface camera. other than that the connect wins everywhere else.
if i had the esteem already i would stick with it. while the connect is the better phone, the improvements arent significant enough to warrant an upgrade.

not all esteem can go to 2.1ghz maybe a hand full but the connect problem has been solved for most and it is a big up grade in my opinion it records at twice the fps front and back so the pics and vids are way better the sim card is cat3 for browsing and talking at the same time the processor is s3 snapdragon i believe and not to say daul core 1188ghz stock. just my opinion.

Of course but I get like 9 hr on my connect and like 6-7 on my esteem. The connect is worth the up date in my opinion it's fast and reliable compared to the problems the esteem had there is nothing wrong with the connect lol. (The connect Over heats alittle)
connect im going to change from optimus m two. played with it today at the store
I just purchased the Connect 4G on Friday and have tons of questions, battery issue, etc. I'm getting help on battery issue on another thread but did a search of 'first smartphone' on Connect forum and found your comment. I was told at store that I couldn't check out phone. Did you demo one that an employee happened to own or do stores/should stores have demos available?
