I just bought a LG Connect phone and the battery sucks. I have to recharge it twice a day and some times it over heats even when I'm not using it. I'm looking for a better battery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
The battery life sucks for me also. I only get 60-90 minutes of use. Waiting to hear back from three companies on acquiring a better battery. Haven't had any overheating.... yet. But other members have. Look here: LG Connect 4G overheat when charging
Many times my LG Connect will not power up when the charge is under 40%. Strange. It feels like many of us are testing a very imperfect product.
I was also wondering if the LG Esteem battery the same size as the LG Connect because, I seen extended batteries for the LG Esteem for sale on ebay. It was 3500 mAH battery. Which would be way more powerful then the 1540 mAH that came with my LG Connect. There is an 1800 mAH extended battery for the LG Connect for around $25 but I'm wondering how much difference is between my 1540 mAH battery and an 1800 mAH battery.

Love the screen and fast surfing, BUT this Connect phone feels like it's a baby with multiple birth defects which needs constant nursing. If an automobile were to be released in the USA, or any other consumer product, with all these problems, the manufacturer would be out of business and/or in serious litigation.

Per a nearby thread, Verizon has a different model. Would keep this Connect if it weren't for the crappy terrible battery life and the defects and abnormalities described here Good and bad of the LG Connect phone (MetroPCS)

The Optimus M had similar feelings about it by many of the users. After having it a little over a year, I can say that while there were frustrations, I am glad to have owned it. I hope I feel the same way about the Connect in a year.
My daughter is using the Optimus M as an Android "player" over wifi. She has wifi here at the house and on her college campus, so it should be decent for her.

I guess I will wait until the other carriers come out with their version of the LG Connect and see if they offer a better battery. Sprint has the LG Viper and Verizon has the LG Lucid both should be out soon.
I'm sure most of you already know this but for newbies like myself I couldn't find an extended battery for the connect but when I looked at the connect battery it has BL-44JN on it so I tried searching for that on ebay and found a 3000 mAh extended battery and I'm been using it for 24 hours already and still going. Obviously it depends what you use the phone for. I haven't played games or dowloaded any music I just surfed the internet and made a couple of phone calls but it still last alot longer than the battery I got with the phone. Now I have to find a cover to fit the extended battery or try modifying one.

Called LG. They have no intentions of making an extended battery.
Called LG. They have no intentions of making an extended battery.
The original manufacturer typically does not make one. They do not make the original battery to begin with. There are surprisingly few actual battery manufacturers in the world. Many brands are made at the same factories, just with different specs.
We don't need LG to make an extended battery there are extended batteries out there now that are compatible with the Connect. Just go to ebay or amazon and type in " BL-44JN battery " What we need is a battery cover that will fit the LG Connect with an extended battery in it.
1. in applications -> settings -> accounts and sync -> disable auto sync and background data.
2 get rid of metropcs app called myextras which constantly displays ads. go to the app and with your finger hold down and drag the app to the delete bin at the bottom of the screen.
3. once done go to settings again and in manage application -> click running; see if myextras is running or if any application is running that you do want running and then disable it. but make sure you do not disable the wrong ones.
4. download from play appstore juicedefender app which kind of saves on the battery usage also.
You can also install MyBackup and then freeze apps under the MyToolBox option (safer than deleting an app by accident). I did that with the LG Keyboard and MyExtras. With the LG Keyboard frozen, your charge times will be much better. It took about 2.5 hours to charge completely from 3%.
I also installed "4G Toggle". I can turn off 4G and only run 3G until I need it.
I agree about JuiceDefender app as well.

I froze my apps through ROM toolbox, great app.
I'm using the 4G toggle widget but not noticing much difference, if anything my battery life is worse today.
I'm using juice defender ultimate and I'm definitely not noticing the same effect as on my other phones in the past. JD says it it's extending my battery by about 1.22 times versus almost 2x in the past.
bah you are bragging but you have a custom rom on it as we can all see, probably optimized to improve battery, which once we get one it might be even better than the one you got hopefully, glad to hear you get over 1 day with it though, on a side not what kind of custom rom are you using I got a friend that is using Gingersteem extreme 2 and see which of the 2 perform better.

if he has an extended battery he's packing a 3000mah battery, way better than the 1500mah that came with the phone.
custom roms, apps, and battery saving methods really arent gonna do much for the dinky battery that came with this phone. you just gotta get a more powerful battery.
other top of the line 4g phones with better battery life have at least 2000mah batteries.
Don't know if someone already said this but. I emailed batterybay.net Friday they were the first ones to have an extended battery for the indulge. Monday I got the reply back, no plans on making the extended battery for the connect. So sad but I'm sure someone will make it.
I ordered two 1900 batteries and a wall charger with usb for $14 straight from china, took ten days to receive it. I got it on the charger now cant wait to use it

I ordered them too. Did the batteries fit in the charger or do you have to charge the battery while it's in the phone?
