Default Swype - The Battery Sucker

So Swype seems to be using a lot of memory. My question isn't whether it is or isn't my question is what can we do about it. I'm a first time Android user and I gotta tell you, Swype is really cool. I like it a lot. I've only had the phone for two days now, and I really like Swype. I don't want to use Gingerbread keyboard.

Any suggestions?

It is not Swype, there is something wrong with how the phone handles the keyboards in general. The Gingerbread one from the market is the only one that has not drained my battery so far. As I said on another thread, I logged a ticket with LG. Maybe if everyone does the same then they will put more manpower behind it.

Idiot check but I don't see a 'gingerbread keyboard' only a keyboard from Android 2.3, is this the same one? The one I'm looking at is from Justin Lin.

I'm not entirely sure I buy the keyboard as being the drain. I had a similar problem on my HTC Incredible 2, the battery use would list some crazy process as my main battery drain but after I rooted and started running CM7 it started listing the radios as the drain. I'm wondering if there is some flaw in the stock Android OS that makes it unable to accurately determine what the battery draw is? Either way it's a moot point until we get either and extended battery or a different ROM - or both.
I desperately need something, I took this screen shot at 2% from a full 100% charge:

I too really liked swype but I'm only using gingerbread, trying to get better battery life. I'll be happy to contact LG if there's a chance they can make corrections with swype and keyboard use in general that helps battery life.
On the weekend, my battery couldn't keep up - no games or music, used web and metro navigator. Yesterday, I downloaded gingerbread and Juice Defender and also let battery completely drain and fully recharge. Will do the drain/recharge again as I read somewhere on forums that this might help.
I really like the phone but being so green with smartphone in general and not able to do all the tweaking that advanced users do, I'm concerned about battery life issue. So threads like this that suggest eventually LG makes changes that improve problems is encouraging.

I just accidentally might have figured out something about the battery drain by the keyboard issue. I turned on Swiftkey earlier because I knew that I was going to be entering a lot of text. I was on wifi and I have not experienced the battery drain. I think that there must be some link to the radio causing the problem.
