after about 6 hours on stock battery i was down to around 40% battery.

i streamed iheart radio off and on for about 3 hours(turned it off during commercial breaks) played angry birds for an hour or so while streaming radio. played a lot of music on the phone and surfed the net doing some light youtube video streaming. this was on wifi for virtually all of that time. i have GPS and background data on always.

one of the things that gave me a bit of a boost in battery life was going back to the stock launcher. ADW and GO launchers were killing my battery. im still clocked at 756high and 192low. my phone has gotten as hot as 104F, usually while playing angry birds.

My phone is rooted,i use app Quaratine to "freeze bloatware". use Setcpu to underclock to 900ish mhz when screen is on and 400ish when screen is off ,scaling is set to "conservative ".i use JuiceDefender the full version ,and have it on 'customize" profile..through JD i have all apps disabled during screenoff except for whatsapp, and i have background data off all the time except for whatsapp cuase i use it alot, wife has an iphone, if i want to check email i check it manually same goes for Facebook, twitter, instagram and anything else...i consider notifications for this programs none important so it works out to may advantage and i save alot of battery ...today used my phone since 10 am about to now and i still had 58% so that good i did text, send mms and make calls and had a 45 min call with a friend so i figure its working for me i would like to get the 2400mah battery if i hear good reviews about it, and that would be just to have it.

i did try the battery without JD,Setcpu . only with App Quarantine and it didnt last me 8 hours...and i did even use it that much during that test. btw i do have the gingerbread keyboard the swype is a monster on your battery as much as i love it i dont use it. o another thing i do take like 10 to 15 pics a day ..so i think its a good battery without the hump that the 3500mah would give ya.

I did the second day of testing the extended battery, with some calls, texting, video from YouTube, games like sonic cd, and riptide, video already on the phone, browsing, running benchmarks, music streaming, between other things, like constant email, and Andy for android.

And I got up to 16 hours of battery life, impressive I must say, I am still cycling the battery to see up to how much I can get out of it.

O yeah phone is not under clocked or anything like that, even though I could I would notice shudders from time to time, so I removed it and is not running any battery saving apps, like juice defender, or battery x2

Well I had 4g , background data, use wireless networks for location, no GPS satellites, since I was at work and didn't need it to be active, but 16 hours again yesterday I will condition this for 5 days and hope to get more, there is an update coming that will fix over heating, and I bet that will improve battery life greatly, making this battery even more efficient.

Is anyone using the 1900mah battery that uses the phone for email txt calls and do quite a bit of web surfing and downloading? Does the stock battery cover fit with the 1900mah as well if so how long does it last. I just ordered the 3500 but i have a feeling its going to be way to thick and i cant find a phone case anywhere and that will just add to the thickness. By looking at the pics it looks like it will double in size with the 3500mah.

Im looking for a battery that i can use the exsiting cover with i did buy the 3500 for the time being. I want to get more life out of it the stock battery stinks for sure. Ill look around and see about the 2430mah. If i can use my stock back the phone will stay slim and help keep the phone cooler with the larger battery as well and ill be able to keep my phone case in case i drop it which i do from time to time lol

Default Connect

New to this Forum - thinking of Getting a Connect and sounds like either the 1900 mah or definitely the 3500mah will be the best with the smaller one having no extra bulk.

They do have the 3500 mah battery at Coral Springs Florida near Ft Lauderdale NOW and will soon have a phone cover to protect entire phone and thicker backplate.

Guessing you will see these batteries all over as Connects are popular.

To be clear - battery comes with cover I'm talking about phone protector cover large enough for new battery and bulge from new backplate.

Question- when you send picture messages to Email address- does that count as part of your Data?

MMS Messages are included and do not count as part of your data but when slide show presentations are sent to Email address- do they count as Data ?

How's the reception and speaker on the Connect ?

And if you don't sync the Calendar is their enough space to enter appointment, address, directions etc. like I could on my old non Android ?

Also someone mentioned 20% brightness to preserve battery - is that kind of dim ?

Thanks.

OK.. so my daily use is something like this so far..
4g always on, GPS off, background data always on, bluetooth off, and wifi mostly on or maybe half of the battery use is on wifi..
usually i have it 8 or 9 hours of stand by and that can make the battery drop from 100% to 60%.
When get home last days i was playing with phone little bit, downloading apps web browsing (wifi) and playing some games (like ninja fruit or angry birds) and phone at least lasted 10/12 hours total. I also try other apps like skype, mobile ip calls... things to test phone.. maybe some gps too..
today didnt really use the phone, it' s been up for 13 hours and remaining battery is 35%

Even if you want to there is not going to be a cover that big for the connect, sorry to disappoint you, but that is always the case with an extended battery, you can always get spare batteries, and exchange them to keep the same thickness. There is no company working on making the connect a case that will fit an extended battery, its just not usable with it being that thick, making it it way too thick.

One store told me they might get cases for the 3500 mah-thick- as- a -pizza battery- they are selling the battery now.

The 2340 may be best since it's thin if it doesn't overheat- if it can give 4 to 6 hours of use without a charge....

seems that putting pressure on metropcs to correct issue for a $400 'new' phone is the way to go. are all these attempts to self correct causing company to sit on it's rear?
also, I read that possibly an upcoming update might correct issue. I am not tech savvy but have to wonder how an update is going to change a bad battery if indeed that is the issue. just throwing out some thoughts. gotta say, I envy all you tech kings/queens that can toy with electronics like you do. me, bad battery and HOT when charging.

I don't think the 2340 is genuine that much, if it fits it will probably a lower value, it might be just fake, since we have seen so many of those, put it frankly I doubt the 3500 is actually. The amount displayed, but I'm sure is higher than 1500, and I really don't think they will make a case for it and the stores are lying to you, if they cannot get it on eBay, and metro itself doesn't offer it, then is not true, remember china usually get the stuff done first, so we will see, I hope I'm wrong though, but I really doubt it.

I just got the 3500 and back today and it seems to have come with a 67% charge and right now I am in the process of charging it. Hopefully it will work well as I am getting about 3 hrs with the stock battery now.

Well , I am not in a good 4G area but instead I have a WiFi connection that is quite good and the phone does nicely. I am getting about 20mb down and 4 up no matter where I am in the house and in the same room as the router it is even better.

Another thing, playing Angry Birds and listening to Rhapsody the temp never has gotten past 32C.

Right now it has been going for 12 hr 39 minutes and it has about 36% of the battery left.

yeah, 4G is gonna be the real test for that battery as its the main culprit of battery drain. wifi isnt gonna tax your battery nearly as much.

good to know that the battery isnt getting hot.

Oh well, I ended up with about 5% battery left after 16 hours.. The battery typically is staying at 31C with normal surfing and rhapsody and the highest I have seen it is 32C.

I have the Wifi on most of the times, yet wifi on does not turn off your radios, 4G is still active, battery gets me to the whole day, even though the thickness is a little bit much, I would love to have the update already, there is always an issue with LG, that's why not many people buy their phones, cant wait to see metro release an ICS phone from Samsung with and 8mp shooter, I know mp don't tell you good quality, but if is the same as the sgs2, it will be a great camera, the lg camera isn't so good. Ok I rambled and ranted long enough about LG, anyways battery does last by sacrificing size, no case fits it either so you got to be careful of not dropping it, can't wait to see if the update fixes battery life as well as the phone getting hot , I get around 16 hours without the GPS on of course.

I should have mine in the next day or so. I typically get about 14-16 hours out of mine (original) with very lite use. That is with 4G on and background data. If I am in an area with little or no 4G service, I will usually toggle off 4G.

Curious, what are the exact buttons to push to toggle off the 4G and leave WiFi on as I am in an area where 4G is basically non-existent.

Quick questions I got the Connect and its great and what I get is tops 10 hours with the battery and sometimes I'm out and I need to ask for people to borrow their phone because it runs out. The extended battery seems way to big for me so thinking of getting the 1900mah or 2400mah if thats not to big can someone show me where to get the 1900 and 2400 battery can't seem to find them? :/

These will both work on the Lg connect and the 2400 battery doesn't need a different back cover? I think the 2400 battery would be great but does it really fit I mean why don't more people get that one instead? O.o But thanks for this

Some people are willing to deal with a bigger phone for better battery life.

i just did a little experiment with my stock battery. sort of a "worse case scenerio" run.

4g, background data, sync, GPS were on. clocked at 756mhz high and 192mhz low.

streamed a 4 hour video of a speedrun of FF5 the entire time.

from a full charge i went down to 5% in 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Just got my 3500 today. It came with 66% charge. I played a video, surfed and the phone did not pass 32c. Will post more as I go.

Mine was 67% but I also did not pass 32c. I have been on the www all day and right now I have been using the battery for 8 hrs and I have 49% remaining.

Just got mine today, my silicone cover is just barely too small for it. :-(

Will let it charge 12+ hours tonight.

I very well may buy this myself. Not having to wait a month to get this is intriguing.
