Amazon's free app of the day is another 15 dollar office suite. Documents to Go. I never use these apps but downloaded this one and the other 15 dollar office one just because they're 15 bucks ahaha

I could be mistaken but, I think you have to have a credit card on file with Amazon.

+1 on this one.. really improves battery life.. and if you pay for it you can have it turn data on periodically so you don't miss emails.. i'm wondering though, will it still push things like with yahoo messenger? or skype even? use them for work and whatnot so havent really had a chance to test it..
Edit: works with the messengers.. Bought it
and Edit Edit: took it off the charger yesterday at 3.. yahoo running.. 79% in 18h33m.. estimated 1h32m left.. it has been idle though overnight since around midnight though.. either way.. awesome app.. no downside so far..

Reason: Update..
I figured I would post up my new favorite apps. Sensorly is still on of my favorites but I just installed:
droidwall-keeps unwanted apps from hogging your internet
spare parts- old but goodie
Batterycalibrator- My phone said it was 100% before I installed. When I opened this app it was at 66% and charge for another hour. (got 1+ hour with wifi, tethering, data, playing music and browsing the web)
autokiller optimizer-I have the lg optimizer and this goes very well with it instead of fastreboot
And...
Cartoon wars: Gunner + - this game is way too addictive for me

now that is creepy, this means biometrics software has evolved. We should all be scared is this technology falls into the wrong hands, and it already has...

Data switch is good if you want to toggle mobile data; we could do that in CM7 but not in the stock ROM on this phone -- unless I missed something? Data switch uses a method I am not familiar with to toggle the data connections off -- it also stops the wireless. This is good for battery.
I'm looking for a good app to keep wifi on after the screen is off as well. I have one that I am testing now.

You don't need an app for that, it's a stock option. Just go into wifi settings and hit the menu button and choose 'advanced' and click on wifi sleep policy and choose 'never'.
Like nailzer said, that is cm7 which we currently don't have available for our phone.
I agree that I don't likes LG's icons. They are very large and take up.almost the entire notification bar.
I dont mind the size, in fact I wish the 4G, 3G and 1X icon were more readable when I am driving - wish the battery indicator had a number as well, but i will not try metamorph/ninjasumthingerother until we get a backup

Does anyone have both LG Esteem Optimizer and 2x battery installed and running? Not sure if i should buy 2x battery if i get LG Esteem Optimizer seeing as it says it also extends battery life.
Yeah, hat or glasses. You should try it out, both are free on the market.
I second that about Visidon Applock... and I've even tried to fool it.
Works with or without glasses, hat, etc. My son looks just like me, even down to the facial hair, but it won't unlock for him.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars, but just make sure you take many "training" shots of your face in various lighting situations.
Another app I couldn't live without is Gemini App Manager
Where's My Droid has saved my phone on several occasions, so I should add it to that list too. lol
I don't understand why they took the esteem off its compatibility list. It was on there yeasterday when I bought it. The game is very smooth with no lag at all. I'm starting to think there is a conspiracy around not letting the esteem have games that can play without any problems.
