Default Boost your 3G speeds to 1mbps?

Warning: Don't blame me if your phone dies.

Apparently the Samsung Admire guys figured out how you can boost your 3G speeds:

Using QPST, you change your "Mobile IP Behavior" to "Simple IP" and it just works. People are saying that they are getting up to around 1mbps on metro's 3G network which is pretty good actually.

Original Thread:
http://androidforums.com/admire-all-things-root/494248-how-boost-3g-stock-2-3-4-a.html

Instructions with screenshots:
3G Boost Tutorial

I can't do it because QPST won't recognize my phone. I think it's the dlls or something so I'll try on my netbook tomorrow. I spent like 2hours trying to get it to work but failed, and must sleep now.

I hope someone else takes a crack at it. I won't be able to try again until tomorrow evening.

I'm wondering if it'll boost 4G speeds as well?

Keep us posted... want to know about both 1x AND 3G speeds if at all possible. Just let us know which you are getting whether it be 1x or 3G. Thank you.

I really wanted to be the first to try so that I can get some thanks points lol. I tried but for some reason my QPST isn't detecting my phone. It worked before when I changed my PRL from 3019 to 3025, but since then something happened. I'm also curious if this changes the 4G speeds.

If possible, try to take some SpeedTests.

I'm about to go to church, and I should be back around 3-4pm so I'll try it on my netbook later with a fresh install of drivers and QPST. Good luck!

Apparently this was already tried with the Esteem and no help but multiple device tests could overturn this

I'm confused because when I tried, I didn't have the tab to change the setting. I was finally able to get my phone recognized after i deleted and reinstalled QPST and my usb drivers. I'm gonna try once more to use the latest build of QPST to see if there's a difference.

If you restore your phone, you should be good. Do you have a backup? Not sure if a clear data/cache/dalvek will work, I think you need to use an actual backup. Any old backup should work though.
