So the lg esteem is my third andriod phone i bought for 300+$ and i am very disappointed with thw results i get from andriod 4g phones. They work great for about a month then they just start working terrible. First they start working really slow and gets worse by the day then the Internet starts working terrible. And to top it all of it turns of by itself about twice a day. I see that there is a update available that i will get tomorrow but of it does not fiz the problems i am gng to buy an Iphone 4s and nevee get andriod ever again
I am begging to see people who talk bad about the Iphone and say driods are the best are just saying that because they can't afford an Iphone or can't get approved for at&t or verizon service.
Sorry for the spelling mistakes but i wrote this on my andriod and when i tried to go back to fix them the stupid screen kept putting me in different place's.

Horrible? That's the first time I've ever heard that in describing the Esteem. Sounds like it's limited to just your phone because this is one of the "BEST" phones I've ever owned.
With that being said, what software version are you on? ZVB ZVC? The problem lies in that I would guess. A lot of people were having reboot problems with B but then the ZVC update didn't fix it at all. But now we have the ZVD update and it fixed everything.
So basically you need to update your phone to the ZVD update asap.
Hopefully your phone is not one of the bad batches

There are so many factors as to why it reboots on you.
As with any phone it seems(from looking around on here) there are always "issues".
I agree with the FuzMaster(I love this phone)
If you need any help "tuning it up" just HOLLA

I'm gonna have to agree with Fuzzy13 and gbiggie.. I've dropped my fone on the ground more then 20 times without a case and I have no problems. Seriously lol I do agree it lags n is very slow at times but that's just the phones bus speed. Which can easily b fixed when you Root the fone and overclock it. And about the internet lagging... that's not the fones fault lol

and the iphone is fun and all but with the limited market and so much hype on it. its less appealing. my brother has from the iphone 3 to 4S. we just had to fix his 3g because after 6 months it started locking off. androids are fun and have problem as well. so its rreally what u want to do. jailbreak or root. the most amazing thing on iphone all day everyday is BATTERY but android will catch it. (in another 5 years) lol .

I'm very pleased and happy with my Esteem and my wife's Esteem too. The only time my phone lags is when I have to many apps running, like for example, to mention a few of them: I use ADW Ex, Voxer, Latitude, Family Locator, Twitter, Scramble, Draw Something, Handcent SMS, App Store, Play Store, plus my Widgets (Beautiful Widgets and Power Control Plus) among many others, and those apps are always running, literally always running, I'm on my phone all day long, so when i feel that the phone its lagging I just press the magical button called Fast Reboot and back to "gone in 60 seconds" or better "a split of a second phone"

The iphone is so far behind now its laughable when someone brings up the Android vs iphone debate.
Yes the barter is nice on the iphone. But its 3g which first off doesn't eat the battery 4g does. Plus that's why they make chargers. I'd rather have a bad ass phone i can do whatever the hell i wanted to do to it instead of good battery life anyways.
The next iphone is going to have to REALLY REVOLUTIONIZE the phone market AGAIN to catch up to Android.
Really have to agree with fuzzy13. And i honestly had an iphone before, and ill tell u what... i ****ing hated it. Despised it. It would constantly lag, no matter what i did. I jailbroke it, and it was better, but not by much. The 3g was HORRIBLE, Internet flicked all over the place and sometimes would refresh a page by itself and id lose w.e i was doing which got extremely annoying especially after typing a paragraph or two in one message and then its gone right before i send it. Always had horrible reception with Iphone, and no real room for improvement unless i bought a brand new iphone which the only difference is a ****ing processor. I bought a droid, learned some linux 101, and now my droid is my favorite thing in the world. Then rooted and applied some ram tweaks and kernel tweaks and i dont have to managr my ram anymore. Phone does it on its own, and it doesn't murder battery and it flies. Im emulating legend of zelda orcarina of time on 1ghz playing against ganondorf with no lag. With the iphone i couldnt type in the name of the file without lag. So ya, screw the iphone. Love my droid. Thank you Google for being better.

you will soon learn the iphone is no better, just on a 'better' network and that the iphone is locked down tighter than a virgins legs. Sure an iphone can be jailbroken, but that still doesnt get you full control over it. Nice piece of hardware, but they treat the consumers like 3rd graders.

Iphones are terrible they are boring and break easily. I'm not saying that because I have an Android, I could've own an Iphone, but they can't compare to the things an Android can do. Android is more tricky, you have to know how to use it properly, once you do, you'll never think of an Iphone again.
Android is far ahead of Iphone. Look at the galaxy beam
I don't know why some people think that if you own an Android phone and have Metro PCS as your carrier you are broke. The Esteem is not a cheap phone, $350-$300 dollars is not cheap and when you buy two of them is not cheap. You can get an iphone for less than that with a 2-year contract with any carrier, but how much will you have to pay for that plan, more than you would like to pay. Since when its wrong or bad to save money? I have had AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, etc. and one thing its true, they all suck in some areas, it could be customer service, reception, plans and so on... If you live in the country or in the jungle it doesn't matter what carrier you may have you'll be stuck and you'll have bad reception. I'm in Orlando so I don't have any problem what so ever with my service because I'm in the 4G LTE Home Area (check the Metro PCS map). I even have my mom in my family plan, she got the regular $40($35) plan and she lives in Ponce, Puerto Rico and she is under the Extended Home Area and she gets good service there. Most of the carriers in PR sucks. One of my brothers owns an iphone and his always crying about how sorry his phone is. So I'm sticking with my Android and Metro PCS and is not because I'm broke.
I went from paying $90 a month for two phones with no internet access on Verizon to paying $90 a month for two phones with unlimited access. I also dropped $700 on two Esteems, so I would probably say most people who are buying Esteems could easily afford an Iphone and qualify to be with Verizon or AT&T. Most just don't want to pay $150 a month for something they can get for $90.
Thanks for the reply's guys I am going to update the phone and hopefully it will fix it. I am just saying from personal experience from all the android phones I have owned I have had same problems they start working slow and start having bugs after about a month or 2. I have never had a Iphone but most of my friends have them and they love them. I do love the androids for there capabilities and screen sizes but its getting annoying having to check my phone to see if its on or not.
Another thing is apple was trying to sue android cause they say Android was taking their customer, they are just whinners, and with low prices you can get android phones from different carriers. And like anything else no matter what carrier every phone has a bad batch of phones thats been made, and another thing dont expect a phone to do everything a computer could do.

My Esteem = Zero Problems, except duplicate text messages here and there.
My girlfriends Iphone 4 = Random shut downs and reboots, deletes texts on random, She updated hers and her mom's on the same computer which cause texts to her to go to her mom and her mom texts to her (Oh and I cant forget she spent 6....SIX HOURS on the phone with Apple Support (Their worse then Metro Employees) but still to this day when she calls it says her moms name instead of hers) and it has over heated to the point of shut down at least 3 times.

Update to the ZVD firmware and you'll love it. I haven't rooted my phone or installed a custom ROM since the ZVD update, it's that good. You should do a factory reset on the phone after the update for good measure too since that will wipe out all the old settings.
so far it has not shut down today so I guess the update did help. But it still is slow. When I am saying slow is when I try to open a app or text it takes a few seconds. Also do u guys have problems with the touch screen when trying to view a website it never puts me where I tap it to. I seen my friends Iphone and whenever he opens a website the phone automatically sizes it to fit the screen perfectly witch I like allot. I am just upset with the phone because it worked so good the first month and then just like all the other androids I had it starts working slow.

Well this ain't exactly a high end phone. If you don't want a second lag when opening apps get ureself a galaxy nexus or something.
Well they get slower cause of all the cache and data and apps you download. I don't download unnecessary apps. And it stays snappy.
all my apps are on my sd card I did not know it still slows down the phone?

Have about 90+apps on mine right now..no lag at all when opening any of them. I never move any to the esternal sd..ever. No root with all the bloat running in the background is always a killer. Especially Maps

Did you perform a factory reset after you updated? That will make a big difference in speed.

Unless you are using a quality class 4 microSD card you will have slowdowns. The class of the card has nothing to do with read speed and everything to do with sequential write speeds, i.e. class 10 writes sequentially at 10MB/s, these are best suited for cameras. Class 4 have the fastest random 4k read speeds (afaik, class 6 MAY be faster), this makes a ton of difference when running apps off the card. I would suggest leaving the apps on the internal storage unless you run out of space.

+1 Class 4 or higher is the only ways to go. Anything under 4 should never be used with a phone or camera IMO. 6 is "faster" but not a big enough difference that you'll be able to see if you come from a 4. Go from a class 4 to a 10 and youll see a bit of a difference.

A few seconds? Really? lol
This is a phone not a computer. Well, it is "kinda" a computer lol Granted Anything more than 5 seconds would be considered "slow" but i've never seen any lag when opening apps. Or if there is lag i've never noticed it as being slow per say. Unless it's angry birds, that takes a while to load.
If your ONLY problem is that your apps take a second or two longer to load, I would say you need to be EXTREMELY grateful.
