Default LG EVE - sd card not mounted

Hello everyone,

i have a problem with my lg eve phone, i hope someone cant help. LG doesnt know why or the people where i got my phone.

here is my problem:

sometimes, at least once a day my phone wont read my pictures or music files. it says "sd card is not mounted or sd card is busy".

the phone is fine. the phone will ring with my own ringtone from my music and i can view my pictures, then all of a sudden it will play the default ringtone. i go to check and it says sd card is not mounted or busy.

the sd card is in there. i have to take it out and put it back in to fix it. this fixes it for maybe a day.

can someone help?

p.s. this is the second eve. the first one could not read my bluetooth, but also had the same problem about the sd card.

thank you

Make sure you are choosing to "safely remove hardware" before disconnecting the phone from your computer. Just unplugging it could cause these problems to your sd card. You could also try so reformat your card then try it again. You will need a micro sd to sd card adapter then you can put it in a card reader in your pc and format it from there. Also make sure you have the mass storage option on your phone turned on all the time. hope this helps.

I have experienced some probs with sd-card - the phn automatically mounts & unmounts the sd-card without any reason...& it happens frequently...2-3 times a week...

Default Black Screen issue

The Black Screen issue is a known problem with firmware prior to 10c.

Visit the LG Support page to download the firmware update tool:

Mine does this too, but only about once a week. Hopefully it gets fixed with an update or something cause it's annoying.

Mine has done this once... had thought perhaps it just worked loose but now I'm wondering if its something more than that. It did have trouble accepting my 4gid card when I first put it in, took a few attempts but got there ok. Had it around a week, and when I went to take a photo yesterday it said sd card not mounted, took it out and put it back in again which solved it. Will keep an eye on this...

I am starting to get frustrated with my LG eve to, I called in to talk to tech support a few times and they told me to do a reset on mine to see if it solves it, guess what! Nope still doing the SD Card Mounted or Error mounting SD card, over and over, sometimes its every few minutes then not for hours, when I called in to see about having it replaced I was told it was 10 days past the date I can return it, and the worst part is I called in around the time it was ending and put a complaint in to tech support about the issues I was having, As a new customer to Rogers you think they would have just sent me a new phone, The only option I have now is to take it to the local Rogers store and have them send it back to LG which can take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks and I get a cheap Nokia for a replacement that only makes calls, no texting at all which is the main reason I got the phone, and I only have 60 minutes of call time used on the phone since I received it. If anyone knows a fix for this please post it, I have the latest fimware and also I have formated my card to and still no success, :|

That sucks, but I think this is just a problem with these phones in general, I don't think sending it back is going to fix it judging by how many other people have it happening to them. It only happens to me about once a week though, so it seems like you are getting it worse off. I just hope it will be fixed with the 1.6 update or some other firmware update. Couldn't hurt to go directly to LG and see what they say.

I purchased this phone from Rogers. Called Tech support, and they suggested that the Taskiller app might be causing the unmount, which doesn't make sense because I kill all apps all the time, with no unmounting of the SD Card. Seems to happen at random. I've had the phone for 1wk, and it's happened 3 times already. Still looking for a root cause & a fix...

I followed the procedures in the documentation, install the driver, the software and connected my phone.... no luck

The app does not see the phone...when I try the Read from Phone option I get a port not found error. Same if I try to Recover from phone.

At first I thought this was Windows 7 issue so I tried on XP SP3 with same problem.

Any ideas.

Thumbs up Firmware update Windows 7

I just successfully completed my firmware upgrade from V10c to V10F, here is my procedure after downloading the LG modem driver package;

Firmware update:

Install LG Modem driver package for the first time (LGUSBModemDriver_WHQL_ML_Ver_4.9.7_All_Win7.exe)
Install LG Mobile Update Software for the first time (B2CAppSetup.exe)
unplug USB
Reboot PC

Unmount SD Card
Dial 3845#*620# to activate hidden menus
Select Modem Settings
turn QCRIL/Android Log On

Plug USB Cable
Wait for driver installs

Launch LG Mobile Update program
Follow instructions
Wait for process to complete, phone will reboot

Unplug USB
install SD card
