Well i tried looking around for instructions on your guys phone but there doesn't seem to be anything so you will have to adapt with the instructions for the motion.

Got it working and I'm back in business. Think I'll swap out the phone still if they send me a brand new one. Thanks for all your help. I posted my steps in the other thread.
I'm downloading the update now, but it seems to be 628 MB, which is much larger than the 387 MB everyone else seems to be getting. Well...here goes nothing.
First impressions: slow, clumsy. Hoping it smooths out a little bit. Particularly when I'm going to remove icons from the screen. Screen gets all shaky and then launches a couple programs I didn't even want to open.

Even after all the downloading, converting and flashing -> It still boots to the LG Logo, flashes, there's another LG Logo, it hangs, then turns black.

lol I'm not, I'm going to try the software update via PC again and see if I can't trick it into working-> it's already downloaded the file and is Updating right now
That is a video showing what the Lucid does from plugged in, not turned on to turned on.
It starts, tries to install an update, and then shows LG and flashes to a black screen with the backlight - I just took that video and teh Lucid is next to me still plugged in, still on the black/backlight screen

Seems to be working correctly. Install performed while I was away from the phone (stupid, I know) but it seems to be working correctly. I'm liking the new customization options. Never used widgets but I think I'll start.
Coned, not sure if this will make a difference, but I noticed afterward that while I was doing all that stuff I had left a command window open that was waiting to reinstall stock recovery. It did appear to run. Not sure if that affected my outcome or not.
I got it woot. Was a pain in the ass, especially without internet But I got it working. Love it so far, start up was a bit slow, but that's normal from what I've heard. ICS IS HERE!!!! WOOOOOOOO
I was on stock android Rom with root. tried to download the ota and when the phone rebooted it went into cwm recovery. rebooted again and uninstalled cwm in applications screen. tried installing update again and phone still went into cwm recovery. rebooted once more and initiated a factory reset in the phone settings to try and remove cwm completely from the phone. rebooted again and STILL went to cwm. and at this point the phone would only boot to cwm. used the delooper to get it out of cwm and phone booted successfully with all data wiped and unrooted (i used voodoo to unroot at one point) but super user still installed. tried using superoneclick to remove super user but all I get is a missing driver error and it freezes. tried using the kdz method and it gives me a Microsoft c++ runtime error. if I try to update ota the phone will reboot and show the update installation screen but about 1/6 of the way through it shows a triangle with exclamation point inside it and reboots. if I try to update with pc connection it doesn't give me the option to install the software for the phone , even if I check in "my computer" so at this point I'm stuck without root and with superuser still on the phone. ota update fails and pc update won't install the vzw software .

Started with rooted stock. OTA failed (naturally) Stock recovery (TWRP and CWM will usually cause OTA to fail). Used VZW Update tool. Updated flawlessly. Will break root (as most ROM updates from carrier will).
Unless you have a custom ROM, factory reset is usually un-needed. Note I said "un-needed".

wat do? am I effed? I'm effed aren't I.
Try getting the phone's drivers from the LG support site and the Verizon Software Upgrade Tool from the Verizon support site. Hopefully you can get the computer to recognize the phone and an update will fix the problem. The update wipes root anyway I believe.

Welp update, it works.
I went home, plugged my phone into the wall - started Full Metal Jacket - half way through went and checked on the phone and it wanted me to set it up.
Shoot, hoping that was just a fluke. If after a few days of wear and tear it still drains this fast we need to file a report saying they need to update that. Where would I do that?
I don't like charging my phone at any time besides night.

So I'm pretty much SOL then?
Mine did that on the OTA "small" zv6b update file, took it what seemed like 20 minutes before it rebooted after being "black screen" before it came back and said update failed. try to let it set while plugged into a charger and just wait. when it says it failed then try to use the lg support tool to update, that's what I ended up having to do...
