Default Tell us if you got your ICS update and how do you like it?

So I read that the ICS update for the LG Lucid is starting to rollout tomorrow. Here's the article.

Verizon: LG Lucid to Receive Ice Cream Sandwich Update Today (Updated: Tomorrow Actually) – Droid Life

I thought I'd start a thread for all of you so you can tell everyone if you received the update and any intial thoughts about the update.

This so awesome! My day just got 10 times better. As soon as I get the update I will edit my post. Thanks for the article!

So is there anything we should to to prepare for the update? Like will it delete all my data that isn't on an SD card? Just curious

NO Fair, they say you can iniate the update with the support tool today instead of waiting, doesn't work yet as of 8:15pm eastern.......I also saw where they tweaked flash player for ICS but everyone else is complaining that ICS breaks Flash player....Oh well I waited this long, guess I can just keep trying till it allows me to get it......

And why not you dent need to do anything but have space available on your phone and have enough battery life to get through it other than that you just sit back and let your phone do the wprk

not trying to sound stupid but if we're rooted I don't think we'll be prompted for the update right? we have to unroot or return to stock?

whenever I try to check for an update I get an unexpected error/FC so I'm assuming thats what happens with root?

Well it's after midnight EST and I am currently unable to get the new update. Neither the phone's update check nor the LG software is finding any update. Not getting any errors either. I suppose it's just a matter of waiting until Verizon decides to make it available.

I was able to get it through the software for my comp. now, but it said that it would stop me from hard reseting back to what my phone came with, which I don't want to do.

So waiting for it to go OTA I guess.

I just want to be able to go back in case they screwed up or battery is bad or something.

Not rooted.

And either ethernet or USB debugging. I think ethernet.

Is it possible for the update tool to overwrite the ROM to delete the 2.x.x that came on my phone?

On my other devices I haven't had issues with rooting not letting you upgrade . only time I had an issue was when I had flashed a different Rom or deleted system applications but as far as root on a lucid doubt know if it will mess it up or not

I'm still getting nothing. Almost noon EST. Neither the phone's check for updates nor the PC software are finding any update. I *am* rooted, dunno if that matters though.

Just received a e-mail notification of a post on the LG support site. Person says that the ICS update will actually consist of two separate updates - FWIW.

Grrr. Looks like the root or CWM might be killing the update. Ran the first update and rebooted, but phone just shut off. Powered back on and got the android screen with the bar going across the bottom, but the update failed. Rebooting now to see what's up.

Yep. Software update failed. I'll need to unroot methinks.

UPDATE: Download with LG software is working now. I'll try that before unrooting. Will lose some data, but I've done that enough before.

I'm trying Gingerbreak to unroot, since the download was going slow.

Edit: Gingerbreak didn't work, but luckily I still have the unroot tool (Based off the spectrum) to use. Trying that now.

I just tried the 5.7, seems like maybe not the right thing to do? We'll see, installing now.

Also, if you update with the update tool on the computer, doesn't it erase everything, as well as make it so you can't hard reset back to gingerbread, in case this update has terrible problems or something?
