Default Accessories for the Marqee

I am starting this thread because I have found it very difficult to find quality accessories for this phone. If you have found any accessories that you believe may be useful or a good find, I would be very interested in where you found them. I am looking for an otterbox defender like case. But would love to hear about anything y'all might have found.

That Incipio, from the looks of it, seems like an OtterBox type case. It has a inner silicone layer and outer PolyCarbonate shell.

If I end up moving from VM/OptimusV to the Boost/Marquee, that would be the case..

Yes. It comes in two pieces. The soft inner shell has raised bumpers on the corners, camera, and speaker. The hard, outer shell fits seamlessly between the bumpers to give the phone a slick look. I have also found it much easier to use the hardware buttons. It does add a little "heft" to this thin phone. But it came with a screen protector too.

As far as cases go, I just ordered a fishbone case for mine. Its like an otterbox but not as expensive. I ordered a silicone case as well. They are all at Amazon.

This is the link for the Fishbone case:
Amazon.com: Natural Black Fishbone Phone Protector Cover for LG LS855 (Marquee): Cell Phones & Accessories

This is the link for the silicone case:
Amazon.com: WIRELESS CENTRAL Brand Silicone Skin WHITE Rubber Soft Cover Case Sleeve for LG LS855 MARQUEE / P970 (SPRINT) [WCK488]: Cell Phones & Accessories

Question After Market LG Marquee batter?

Anybody know which stores such as:Best Buy,Target,Radio Shack,Walmart and so on sells after market batteries that operate with LG Marquee without having to get a new battery cover or have any side effects? Such as the stock power cord not charging it properly

Thanks, mvaness. Been looking for a solid Commuter style, case since day one of owning my Marquee. I don't even think Otter makes a Commuter for the Marquee.

Thanks again. bdjaddy

RE: Incipio 2 layer case

I read a review on Amazon for this case and the person claims that some of the ports do not line up correctly. She said the headphone jack is not accessible or does not line up, is this your experience? The Otterbox for my Optimus V fits perfectly, everything lines up spot on and the case fits together as one nice unit.

Mine line up okay, I've never had any problem with the jacks. But it does add to the thickness, kind of a shame for such a slim phone. And there is quite a bit of flex, meaning you can pull on the sides, top, and bottom to separate it. the buttons, especially the power, are easier to use.

I tried mine first at a local cell shop that sells the Ignite before buying it, and there were not that many options available at that time.

If I could. I might try to find a slimmer case...

hope this helps...

Bought a TPU cover from Amazon before getting the Marquee to protect it from scratches. With cover on, phone thickness is about 12mm and without it's 9mm so doesn't add too much thickness. Phone doesn't feel like it will fall right out of your hand, almost had a heart attack when I nearly dropped this phone without a cover because it just slides off too easily. Great quality cover and feels really durable.

Amazon - Translucent Smoke Flexible TPU Cover
Amazon - Black Flexible TPU Cover

Because the angle of the power button on this phone, pressing it with the cover on isn't easy. One of the reviewers had a simple fix and it works great.

I got the Trident case for my Marquee. It's the same thing as an OtterBox case, with the silicone layer with the plastic shell. I love it so far.

Amazon.com: Trident Aegis Armor Shield Cover Snap On Case for Boost Mobile, Sprint LG Marquee, Ignite AS855 US855 VM855 LS855 -Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

Definitely worth it. It feels like a very high quality case and all the ports/buttons line up perfectly.

The biggest one I've seen is an 1800mAh that will still allow the stock cover to be used. If anyone knows of a larger one e please post it.

Default I Reviewed that Incipio Case

Hi, just came across this post. I was actually the one who posted that Amazon review.

Just to clarify: I didn't say "all" ports didn't line up. I said the earphone jack at the top, because of where it lined up & the thickness of the case didn't allow my earphone jack to plug all the way flush, so I couldn't plug it into my aux jack in my car to listen to Pandora. And that truly was the deal breaker for me.

Also, the outer piece on the right side of the phone, didn't sit into the inner piece flush either. I found the silicone piece to be very flimsy. Maybe that's what all silicone pieces feel like, but I didn't think it was worth $29.99 (at that time-they've since reduced the price to $22.54). The other thing that didn't line up was the screen protector. Seems as if it was just cut a tiny bit off and when my husband installed it (lining it up exactly against the edges of the screen), there was a bit of the screen protector right on the camera lens. So he had to remove it & move it to the right a little more.

Now, could I have gotten a defective one? Maybe. But for $30, I really expected something "heftier". It certainly doesn't compare to an Otterbox (which is what their website made it sound like). This case ("to me") really didn't feel like it would protect more than the $5 fish-bone case I had gotten my daughter. Which I ended up getting myself one after returning this one, and the silicone piece was just as flimsy as the Incipio. The Incipio outer piece felt a little sturdier, but I just couldn't justify $30 for the Incipio.

I dropped my phone in a parking lot with the fishbone case & it fell right on the corner. The right side top & bottom outer piece cracked, but my phone was fine.

Hope this clarifies my review on Amazon. To reiterate, the Incipio is a decent case, for about $10-$15, but not $30.

Since my fish-bone case cracked, I'm actually looking at the Trident Case AG-LG-LS855-BL for the LG Marquee/LG Optimus Black . This is the blue case, but they have other colors. (Sorry, since I'm new here, I'm not allowed to post the link, but if you want to see it, just copy/past my description into Amazon & you'll see it)

Still debating since in phone cases, more expensive doesn't necessarily translate into more protection, but I'm still researching & leaning in this direction right now.

I thought I saw something about this in the Marquee forums, but I can't seem to find it again and figured this would be the place to ask it. Are there any physical keyboards that will work with the Marquee? The Logitech one looks pretty sweet but it does say Android 3.0+ so I figured I would see if anyone has found other alternatives.

I know for a fact that there are a few apps that will allow you to connect a keyboard. Can't remember the names but they are out there.

It's been a little while since I read the thread about using a keyboard with the phone. I've racked my brain but I just can't remember exactly what the guy used. I do remember that he got it to work though. lol

Amazon has a great selection of the 3-in-1 covers. I bought a white one last week, and I'm thinking about getting this one next. Amazon's prices also happen to be cheaper than eBay and everywhere else I've seen:

Amazon.com: LG Marquee/Ignite/LS855 Black/Red Combo Silicone Case + Hard Cover + Kickstand Hybrid Case BoostMobile: Cell Phones & Accessories

As far as spare batteries go, I'd recommend this:

Amazon.com: AnkerŪ 2 x 1600mAh Li-ion Batteries for LG P970, Optimus Black, Optimus Net P699, Marquee, Enlighten VS700, Optimus Pro C660 + Free Anker Multi-purpose USB Travel Charger: Cell Phones & Accessories

It comes with two batteries that have roughly the same battery life as the stock LG battery, but what's great is they come with a standalone charger that lets you charge the batteries while having another battery in your phone, so you can leave a battery charging and take your phone with you. I like this because I can have one battery in my phone, carry a spare battery with me in my wallet, and have a third battery at home charging. I literally always have a fully charged spare battery now. Even better, it's only $15 for both batteries and the charger, even cheaper than what I paid for it a couple months ago. I'd highly recommend this purchase.

does anyone know if the battery for the Optimus Black will work with the LG Marquee? I am assuming so.

BEWARE OF THE BATTERIES ON EBAY! I ordered 2 1800mAh batteries and when I tested them they were 1500. The Chinese company I bought them from just slapped a 1800 sticker on a 1500 battery. They gave me a refund and let me keep the batteries but how many people actually test their batteries?? By no means am I saying that all the companies do that but it kinda makes you wonder doesn't it?

So far so good.. Gave it the initial charge and I am definitely getting better battery life. My phone had never made it through a day of heavy use

Edit: Just put it on the charger now at 10 percent. Lasted 14 hours with a good amount of use.

I second this. I picked up the 3 in 1 in black and white. It gives the phone a good feel and is quite rugged. If your prone to dropping, the raised front lip does wonders as far as keeping your screen off the ground.

Also, if you are looking for a battery and aren't sure if its compatible with the Marquee the battery model is BL 44-JN

The LG Marquee is Sprint's version of the LG Optimus Black. It's a sleek and thin phone and Sprint's angling it toward those who make their purchase decisions based on fashion. Even with that, it's still quite a capable phone with a... Read More
