Pros and cons on Marquee .
First of all , I would like to say hello to the Marquee Forum and to all my buddies from the Prevail Forum ! I may be joining you guys .
I'm thinking about upgrading from my Prevail to a Marquee but I've kinda got cold feet after reading the reviews on the internet for both the Marquee and the Warp . After doing some reading in the Warp Forum , I'm gonna leave that 1 alone . LOL
I figured this would be the best place to find out what's really going on with the Marquee and it's development . If you people don't mind , please take the time and list your pros and cons for this phone . Your comments are appreciated .

-Has a bright, clear screen
-5 mp rear camera and 2 mp front camera
-Terrible battery life (biggest con)
-Very average performance. Slow / laggy / sluggish sometimes and when running some apps
-Screen is not that responsive
-White balance is off on camera if you don't use the flash
-The earpiece is placed awkwardly, you need to have the top edge of the phone in your ear. Also, the earpiece volume is not that loud.
-Power button is too small on top of the phone
-Did I mention battery life?
I do want to like this phone, though. If it weren't for the battery I would be happy with it even with the very average performance.

battery life on the device is not that great. mine with heavy use last about 6 hours! But i suspect that because of the nova display and being just similar to super amoled on some samsung device to have battery drain issues cause of the screen.
STOCK, the device is kinda laggy, but since rooted the device, got rid of some bloat(that i didn't like not to make it run better) and change launchers phone is fast and very enjoyable while using it.
The big concern about this device is that the phone has NO development being worked on (that i know of) and with some time put into the device i think the phone will be great!!!
I just got mine back from lg, they sent me the same phone back after they fixed some issues i was having with the device and so far its going okay!
Im about to make a post and see if this is something that happening to other marquee. But when i unmount my sd card and mount it back the phone just completely shut off no warning at all! I have to do a battery pull to get device back on??? But as long as i don't do that im good with the device it works great just battery life isn't that great!
I had the warp as well, the charging port died on me so i didn't even attempt to even give another one a roll!

Glad to see you poking around in here. I miss my little Prevail, mainly for the great forum, and it was my first android.
Side Note: People always ask about my opinion when purchasing computers, because I build my own. They always want fast, fast, fast. And then I find out they buy a super fast system and pair it with a tiny or sub-par monitor. Think about the one thing you look at all the time, the screen!
With that in mind, the Marquee has an absolutely beautiful screen. In my opinion, it has solid, although not stellar performance. It has received overall good reviews from the major magazine sites for its build quality and design. The cameras are a nice step up from the Prevails.
I researched the hell out of this thing, and it fills in the gaps where I found the Prevail lacking. It is a little pricey, but I think it was worth it.
I wanted a good overall (PRE-Paid) phone, so I did not look at individual components, but the overall package. And that is where I think the Marquee shines for prepaid phones from other phones; it is hard to beat.
I do wish there was more development, but we have root, and it looks like CWM is just around the corner. With almost 3 gbs of internal storage, I don't need to worry about apps to sd for some time.
Long story short, even if the development isn't as great as the Prevail, I can still tinker with it enough to be happy about my purchase...
hope this helps...

The LG Marquee is Sprint's version of the LG Optimus Black. It's a sleek and thin phone and Sprint's angling it toward those who make their purchase decisions based on fashion. Even with that, it's still quite a capable phone with a... Read More
