Picked this up yesterday, before the display model was put up. Bought the nitro on gut instincts. No regrets whatsoever. Everyone complaining about the lag needs to chill and realize that the processor has to power almost two times the pixels as a normal phone. The lag is negligable with such a beautiful screen. The screen seems alittle resistive requiring a slight amount of pressure. You will notice this while typing; not major at all though. I do wish the UI was a bit more high end. Sorta looks cheesy. Hopefully ICS will take care of this (and Roms). Battery life is average; gets through the day with moderate use. Pretty good life considering the screen.
Feel free to ask me questions; I want to get the word out about this awsoeme yet "less popular" phone.
Hi,
Could you please comment on the GPS of the Nitro:
- Lock time when outdoor
- Lock time when indoor
- Accuracy reported by Google Map and/or GPS Test
- Does it maintain the lock well with Google Navigation?
Thanks.

Locks in a few seconds and is dead on accurate.
I have not tested out navigation though.
I have decided that it's best if I wait until closer to the end of the year before I grab a new LTE phone from AT&T. This phone will remain my primary choice, unless within that time frame a better phone comes out with LTE. Who knows, maybe the price will even drop by $50 as a holiday price cut.
I just picked up the Nitro HD on the 12th and Love this phone. I had a iPhone 4 and was contemplating getting the 4S. While at the store the rep handed me a Nitro HD to try out while he was checking into my account. I had no idea what it was but loved the display, size and look/feel of the phone. I spent the next week reading up all i could about the phone and comparisons to ALL the others out there. I figured I'd give it 30 days to see if I'll convert. Well I can say this phone has impressed me in many ways. It has taken a little getting used to since I used an iPhone for 4yrs prior.
There is only "1" short coming that I hope I can overcome and that is the speaker. For media use I'd say its average at best. While using it for phone use it sounds horrible to me compared to the iPhone 4. It sounds like everyone is far away and has more of a digitized voice. When @ home and in a quiet environment it sounds ok but as soon as I'm outdoors I find myself having to put my finger over my other ear or cranking up the volume to near max which in turn only sounds like the poor speaker is about to blow up. I hope that I just have a lemon and can exchange for another unit tomorrow when i take it back to the store to test it more throughly. Hell I'm even willing to see if i can swap the speaker with another type that will fit the enclosure myself.
I love my iPhone but was never sold on "Apple" so I found my convert to Driod easy enough and don't think I'll be going back to Apple anytime soon. I'll follow-up once I decide what will be the next step. I'd love to hear from more owners about there experience with the sound of their phone. Otherwise my unit is flawless with the screen/UI/camera/sturdy & light feel. I too hope LG doesn't slack with the OS update to Ice Cream. This lil thing is a BEAST!
Feel free to ask any questions too.
UPDATE- Went to my local AT&T store to compare the phone with other Nitro's & the Skyrocket to be sure i didn't get a dud. I found When i had a youtube video side by side with the Skyrocket with the volume maxed on the Nitro I had to have the Nitro a few inches from my ear to be heard over the Skyrocket which was 3 feet away! I swapped my SIM to the skyrocket and made a call to my kid and she immediately said i sounded much clearer.
I then asked to look at another Nitro side-by-side and noticed something immediately the other screen reproduced the video with better flesh tones and didn't look as washed out. One odd thing though was the other Nitro didn't have the brightness set to auto but was in fact greyed out and had no adjustment available. The rep was baffled. While taking pics with the Nitro and Skyrocket I did notice the screen on the Nitro looked ALOT clearer and crisp over the Skyrocket but that's not to say the camera is bad..just the screen isn't near as nice.
I'm so torn. Fast CPU/great screen but cr@p sound from both speakers and low battery life to support that many pixels. Also didn't catch this before but the phone only has 2GB internal storage! Oh also found out that the LG OS 2.3.5 does NOT support 3rd party apps to play WMV files. Called LG and the rep said they do not currently support WMV viewing, but she did go on the tell me that they are going to release the upgrade for Ice cream sandwich soon.
For being touted as a Flagship product with these flaws it makes it hard for me to commit 2yrs to this product. Again this is an amazing phone that has all the potential to be a top tier Droid with some shortcomings that will be hard to overlook. I'll be doing more research and spending more time in my local store for hands on to see what to do next.

hello. I just this forum today in order to talk about this phone.
I have had the nitro for 3 days. I have struggled for a month on what phone to get. really, it came down to the screen on this phone. however, I am struggling with my choice because the phone has a number of bugs.
First of all, as I am typing this, I am getting the error message "NO CONNECTION" when I try to go the android market...even though I am currently connected to the wifi network. what does this mean?
when I first got the phone, I tried downloading angry birds, and the phone froze then when I turned it off and turned it back on, it made a sound like a burglar alarm. ????what the helll??? had to turn it off and then it was okay and was able to download.
haven't had a chance yet to download many apps. So far, I like the screen but the browsing experience doesn't seem as crisp and as smooth as my brothers iphone.
I also cannot believe that the new phones haven't gotten the hint that a dedicated camera button would be nice. they put these great cameras in their phones and then make you tap the screen to take a photo..what is that about?
the battery doesn't seem that great. I haven't had another android phone to compare it to, but it seems the battery is half gone by lunch time. and connecting the phone to a computer via the usb doesn't seem to work...it seems to only really charge when it's plugged into the wall.
will keep you informed. as it stands right now, it is 50/50. by the way, was looking at the iphone 4s, skyrocket and the HTC vivid.

I hear ya on the 50/50, that's how I feel about buying the Nitro.
As for AT&T's selection, it's pretty damn bad. And there's no way you could get me to buy another Apple product.
Oh also found out that the LG OS 2.3.5 does NOT support 3rd party apps to play WMV files. Called LG and the rep said they do not currently support WMV viewing, but she did go on the tell me that they are going to release the upgrade for Ice cream sandwich soon.
Have you tried Moboplayer? I just loaded it to a Nitro and played a WMV with no problem (streaming from a website).
I just wanted to touch on the battery issue. I've had my Nitro for 10 days and i'm now getting around 12.5ish hours of battery use on moderate use(its never died on me, always been plugged in on time). I'm not streaming movies but frequent calls and web use. Also, everyone talking about lag in the launcher needs to swap out for the zeam launcher. The issue lies within LG's skin they have on gingerbread. I swapped it out for zeam and the phone is buttery now.
I've had the phone for 1 week now and I really love. The battery seems to be my only issue but nowadays all superphones don't last a whole day,
That being said I will continue with this battery for another month after ICS comes out and at that point if I still have an issue I will buy a 3800mamp.
It will make the phone a bit bigger buy in my case I see this as a positive. Phone is way too thin ;-)
I just got this phone on the weekend. I watched that video on youtube, and after researching it, decided to switch from a HTC Incredible to the LG Optimus LTE (as it's labelled here at Bell).
I love this phone. I have had NO problems whatsoever. The various homescreens, were very similar to the HTC, so I really like how you can customize them all, for various reasons.
A few friends have told me to download Battery Booster. When I did, I noticed an increase in battery time, by 2 hrs. Could be a suggestion, if you are still having problems with battery life.

I've found that Wifi (and a good wifi connection) extends my battery life tremendously. The wifi on my previous phones would kill the battery in no time so I always left them off, same with the GPS. However, network and GPS power management must really be good with this phone as I rarely have power problems now.

I renewed my plan last week and got the LG Optimus LTE (same as the Nitro HD) and it has a fantastic display and works well, I've owned an LG Shine Plus (LG Ally) and an LG Optimus One in the past and both weren't bad and so far no disappointments other than the slightly low call volume on the new phone.
As for storage size, it's not a big deal, I had to install Cyanogen Mod and use a 1 GB ext3 partition to store installed apps on my HTC Desire and I'm able to store all those apps on this LG and still have space.

I went through 2 phones before finally settling on the nitro. I really like it, as far as comparing it to my old evo on Sprint. I'm waiting to see this forum become more active (hopefully LOL). Only thing that I wish was better is the battery, I have GO power and advanced task killer set to kill apparently every hour (I know task killers are debatable).
The battery on this thing basically drains before my eyes. I always connect it to the charger in the car too. It gets fully charged overnight and within like 5-10 minutes of use I'm at 75% or less.

The LG Nitro HD is essentially the exact same phone as the LG Optimus LTE, simply enjoying a rebranding on it's way to AT&T in the United States. But Nitro HD owners may enjoy much more than just the name- on launch this phone will compete ... Read More
