Phone connection problems: Cell Signal disappears and I have to turn it off

I am using an LG optimus black and I found two things wrong with it.

1.) Cell signal completely disappears, while others who use have the same network as I have cell signal. i have to turn it off to regain its signal.

2.) When answering my phone, i have to wait 5 seconds before I can speak. I find that when i press answer and talk immediately, the person at the other end of the line can't here my first few words...

I need help! Can this be fixed or is ther something wrong with me

I'm having the same problems. The signal issue has got so bad that it can't get signal in my jeans pocket and so I miss loads of calls. I manage with the delay issue by pausing before I speak... It's really irritating though.

If you find out how to sort out these issues, let me know. I might wait a couple of weeks for the ICS update and if that doesn't fix it, get a new phone.
